Wondering if I have to rip out Bose or if I can live with them with a new head unit. This link is an online version of the paper user manual;https://catalogs.pioneer-car.eu/Manuals/SPH_DA160DAB_OPM_SPHDA160DABEU_EG_manual/?page=56 It implies "4 - 8 ohms allowable"
Paul P
The Bose setup has the amp feeding the speakers. So if you are thinking of going direct from head to speakers you will need to “move” the connections from the frunk to the head, if not it’s a new amp and then you need to find something to drive the 2ohm Bose speakers. if you are going to use the existing amp (Bose) then you need the adapter which is at best a compromise (two channel, no rear drivers, no fader - and you have to basically set the amp with the old head unit and then hope its good enough for the new one.
