I had a look on Facebook for you but nothing i'm afraid.  Have you tried the specialist breakers like steve strange, 9apart etc?

Thanks bud, I appreciate it. Steve strange hasn’t got anything at the moment, there’s a couple actually on eBay in Germany but crazy money at  nearly 300 posted, and a shady character selling everything for 400, just seems greedy to me.

I’ll keep looking, must be something somewhere for reasonable money 🤞

I saw a mint one pop up near me for £100, but took too long to decide and it went, ended getting a slightly rougher one from a house clearance, completely untested for £40ish.  I was so pleased when it fired up!  Just a couple of months ago they were averaging about £150 on ebay. If I see anything I'll let you know.

Thanks mate, everything is mega bucks at the moment, I seem to have missed the boat!

One here for £170, I don’t know the website but they do have an eBay shop so could check feedback there.

Great find, thanks! I'll email them this morning and see if it's coded or has a serial number

I’ve got a lovely CR-22 with original manual and code card, not sure what the difference is, pm me if interested.

Thank you, however the CR is just a tape player I think, is it definitely not a CDR? If it is a CDR then I'll have it

Yes indeed you are correct, I’ve never looked at it as it came with my 996 which had already got an upgraded head unit fitted.

Thanks mate, I appreciate your effort, if I don't pick up a cdr I'll have that off you

Keeps it original I suppose, the 996 has a cd changer from new  so I presume that links to the CR22 so cd play would be possible nut please check on that

Thanks, yes that crossed my mind as well. Another forum member has a changer and amp that I can buy. I'll let you know if I decide to go that route. Thanks again bud!

My travails with getting a CDR22, which was jammed unwired into the dash when I bought my car (I also got an old Alpine that had been fitted)  are listed in another thread. That unit is now up and running but only works intermittently for radio and has no CD function so I have also been keeping an eye out for an original head unit. I quite fancy the idea of a cassette player in a 90's era vehicle and could also be interested if Freddie doesn't take it off your hands.

I have a CDC3 and amp which I removed from my car because it has an aftermarket unit fitted. Freddie and I have been messaging one another about it as it might be of use to him.

I dont know the condition or indeed value as the changer and amp are disconnected. so a few questions for those who know more than I do.

Ive seen the amp described as an antenna amplifier. Is that what it is ? And if so will Freddie need it to go with the headunit he has ?

The CDC3 unit has a lead with a red connector and a white connector. Are these for power. If so, can I put + and - from a battery to the red and white to at least see if the unit powers up ?

Will attempt to upload some pics.

Amp.

Nope, cant manage to upload pics. Technophobe crisis again. 🙄

Sticker on the amp says 4x40w so its obviously not just an antenna amplifier, so that clears up one question. Should have noticed that before asking the question .

Would like to know if the red / white plugs are for power and is it safe to assume the power would be 12v ?

And is it possible to find out if the changer actually works ok somehow, without attaching it to a car with original headunit ?

They are Auxiliary plugs for sound. Either input or output. Do not put 12v to them. 😵💫
