Not driven a 2.7 but drove my friends 3.4 which was similar spec to this one and it drove and handled really well. I think it would make a ideal daily as your thinking and also being sporty and practical. He ran his for 2 years and had no scary bills although the bore score thing worried him he change to 987.2. He actually never took to the 987.2 and always preferred the earlier car.
