mypropaganda
The couple of times I’ve been on a spirted drive with a pal (who’s a much better driver than me 😆) has commented that my rear brakes have a much stronger smell and seem much hotter than he’s accustom to (He has an E46 M3 and an M2). Is this normal for a 981 S with PTV? I know that applies rear brakes more than usual, doubly when pushing on).
daz05
Are you sure it's the brakes, there's a lot more back there compared to a BMW. If your wheels are really hot I'd be concerned that the brakes are binding but I think it's unlikely.
Carmine
It’s the traction/stability control applying the rear brakes.
Menoporsche
Tell him his front luggage compartment has a much stronger smell than you are used to.
Jonners
I have noticed a lot of heat seems to pump out from the back wheel arches. Seems to be much more noticeable than with my old 987. Glad I'm not the only one!
KJH
Same here, always feel a waft of heat from the back wheels as you walk round to the boot after a journey. Cheers
mypropaganda
Sounds normal then. Thanks all.
Terryg
There is a lot more heat from that area in my 987.2 than in my 986, isn't the 981 fundamentally the same engine as the 987.2?
noddynurdle
is it what they call Porsche perfume?
