Mikeypat
It turns out that the Bose Amp in my car failed, so the previous owner did away with the CDR24 and replaced it with an very cheap Android unit, connecting the speaker outs to the appropriate cables in the frunk. It is really not at all good and there is obviously no power going to the subwoofwer or speakers in the Bose Box behind the seats or to the center speaker as the cheap head unit does not have outputs for these. Has anybody replaced their Bose Amp and head unit with either a head unit with enough appropriate outputs to power all the Bose speakers, or a head unit and spearate amp that will do so (at the correct impedance for the Bose speakers) Any help would be appreciated and ideally I do not to spend too much Many Thanks. Menoporsche
@Jonnyspin is the only one I remember to replace the amp. As you imply though, I wonder if other alternatives are now available to combine to a different solution.
Jonnyspin
Yep, I put a jl 600 watt / 6 channel amp in and connected all the Bose speakers to it apart from the stupid centre dash one. Was a long time ago though (had the car since new) and involved a bit of soldering and a couple of big resistors. the thread must be on here somewhere. it all still works and sounds better than the original bose amp imho 🙂
