You could try an aircon bomb or similar

Great job, you must feel quite intimate with that car by now!
If by "intimate" you mean bend over the table and feked up the ar*e, then yeah!

Well, that was a job and a half.
Removing the dashboard was the easy bit, getting the heater box out was the hardest part, you would never think that you would have to take the wipers off and that's just the start. There were times when I just sat in the car looking at the mess and everything missing, my brain just wanted to shut down!I used a combination of Wurth sealant and waterproof tape to seal the panel, there was no way I was going to try and take that out. Putting it all back together was mostly easier, although I did get to the point where everything minus the stereo and centre console was back in, before realising that the alarm thing on the dash had the wiring coming out of the wrong opening and had to completely remove everything again, just to be able to pull the dash forward an inch and re route the cable.
Couple of heavy downpours and so far so good, no more leak and no more cover. Also having the leather dash is so much nicer than the textured vinyl, the car even smells more expensive.

At 20.30 in the video, there is another smaller module visible under the seat. Im curious as to what it is, because mine has a wring plug there but no module.
Presumably its not something vital ?
This?
Don't know what that is. Seatbelt/baby seat thing? -

Excuse my ignorance and I appreciate the rads are behind the front bumper but are there no fans near the mid location of the engine?
I'm sure I heard a fan behind me when struck in traffic. ..
Yes, I am pretty sure there is one behind the side vent. Can't remember which side but I'm sure I've had it out and cleaned it.

Make sure that you can just put in a used unit, the later ones with optical connections are coded to the car I believe, rather than having a code to enter.

Part of the 5 chain M96 engine experience?
I had a 2.5 with 103k about 12 years ago and it never did it. Had the starter motor squeal though!

Would love to get this sorted on my car, it's such a horrible sound.

I wanted to use the silver handles that are on the new door cards but it wouldn't work with my cables.
I came across this issue too. If you ever have the inside pull cable break, make sure you get the old style one. Not available new anymore either.

I’ve been looking at the boxes on the shelf for a year now so understand what you mean. I’m sure you’ll get there. Also meant to say I’m only in Bexhill and lucky enough to have a decent size garage if you did need a dry space at some point to do jobs.
ah, that's really nice of you, thanks. Got to do a rear arm soon, be nice to at least work on flat ground! 🤣
We should have a South Coast meet up at some point, there's quite a few of us down here.- 1

Finally had the Koni’s and H&R springs fitted as well as minor service and gearbox oil change. Feels lovely and ready for spring! Still needs a wheel refurb though!
I'm very envious. So looking forward to changing mine. Unfortunately just had to replace the two fronts on my daily.

Thanks for the above.
I'm still none the wiser!
On the 986 it's pretty simple to remove the spoiler. If the 987 is the same maybe if you remove it you might be able to see the holes. I've looked online and can't find any photos.

Thanks, how do you get to the ones under the spoiler? On my 987 I've put the spoiler up but can't see any. I've poured water into the spoiler holes and it pours into the boot.

I've decided that I am going to try and seal it in place using the correct sealant and waterproof tape. After speaking to a few people, not only is it going to be extremely difficult to get the whole panel out, as well as time consuming, but I also I might break something else. I seem to have fixed it with roof sealant temporarily, so this gives me hope that with the dash out I can seal it well enough to last.

Can you tell me where to find these please?
I have done 4 drains in the front boot and two under the rear of the roof but I still have water under the passenger seat. Are there others in the front of the roof?
I think I am going to do a water leak guide at some point!
This guy has a guide to changing them. I did both (at separate times) on my own without removing the roof. But if you have another pair of hands then I would just take the whole thing off as you have to take out all the bolts anyway.
Are you sure it's not coming in through the door seal, I had/have a leak that's doing that.

@Daboy3000 How are you getting on with yours? Need a hand?
Good to hear it went well for you.
I am just restoring the dash I bought. It's just having a final coat. Still waiting for the dial cover to arrive. It's looking really nice now and I want let it cure for a while before it goes in. Had the MOT this week too, so thought it best to start after that. Probably aim for the Easter Hols as I am off for a bit.
I think the removal of the dash is going to be the easy part, it's the removal of the bonded panel I'm not looking forward to. Thanks for the offer!!

What an idiot I am. 25mpg if i'm lucky!

Wow! That's an economical Boxster!!! 🤣
I missing the joke. It's a five speed box.

I have the hotdog type, picked up a mint used for £200. A little droney than standard at certain revs, normally about 60mpg in 5th for me. Sounds great when you wind it up though!

Me too. I try to avoid disconnecting the battery when the roof is open or in service position. Allows a quicker response! I also check the forecast.
I think I will just knock off the ball joints and make the roof manual while I do the work. I can imagine it's a lot easier with the roof down but without the battery I can't put it back up if I don't get it all done in a day.

No worries. You can remove the airbag cover and change it for a different one. Once you have the airbag out you'll see what I mean.
Don't even have an airbag in the dash currently, the very first models didn't have one. I just have one in the steering wheel.

I just took out a grey one. It's not leather but its in WAAAAYYY better shape than the one in the link. I removed it because I changed to black seats and then decided I want to change everything to black. Plus I have the correct airbag for it too.
My one is mint too but I really want leather. I have dyed my seats from red so It won't be hard to make that old dash look like new.
Thanks for the help in the PMs too, I think I have everything I need but will shout if I get stuck.- 1

I'm thinking of buying this - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304798217005
I guess I will just buy an airbag cover for the passenger side and attach it some how.
Weird Window/door lock issues.

You may have a dodgy door lock too, but to me those problems sound like your ECU under the passenger seat has got wet at some point. Mine acts strange sometimes, it was worse when I first got the car and used to lock and unlock as I drove along, sometimes the passenger window doesn't drop or It will double lock when I press the remote button. I find that the more I drive the more the car fixes itself!
