Finally got round to installing my modified centre console (purists look away now). Original Porsche red leather hand rest and audio controller. Wireless charging in the cubby and moved the cigarette and USB ports to the other sides.

@Berni29 and the rest of you guys.

I got the wheels done at some considerable cost. £630 all in to be accurate. Still weeping gently at this cost.

Anthracite centres with silver rims and barrels. Centre caps painted to match. I hope that this will keep the salt out and the wheels good for a few years. The diamond cut finish was a really PITA to keep clear of salt and thus corrosion.

    Very nice indeed

Thanks Berni29. This is what I'll try with painting the calipers and brake fluid flush and new pads.

I recently bought the calliper painting kit from BCS in Long Eaton, very good quality, and I’ll dig out a link to the place I bought the correct size decals for you, mine have been on a while and still look fine. Btw, good to read your progress, you’ll have one very sorted 986 when you’re done!

I had the same with my wheel nuts got them from salvage yard Douglas valley and they were perfect and A quarter of the price of new ones. Just needed a light clean up and I painted them silver

Douglas Valley are great, saved loads of money using them, always quick service. I painted mine up too but wasn’t sure if they were ok being flaky, perhaps they are then, wheels haven’t fallen off, touch wood!

I changed all the spark plugs and coil pack. Then took it for an Italian tune. Love the smell of a worked engine and brakes and it still amazes me how planted the car is around twists and bends. The car absolutely came alive with more grunt and urgency.

Sounds like fun, you get a lot back from a Boxster, amazing cars to own!

That sounds like it was a tough job! Well done!

It was awkward, 'cos of where you have to get your hands in, the extra long reach hose clamp pliers are a must, I watched @Helpmediy's (a member here) video on how to remove the header tank and that was extremely helpful, shows how to get at the hoses on the boot side:

  9. This weekend I found that my suspected RMS oil seepage, was in fact coming from the oil filler tube top section (the part from the header tank and filler in the boot) where it had been put back together incorrectly in a previous life. Replacement ordered for only £20, phew!
