    Good effort

Looks like the passenger side interfaced with the central reservation?

I also did the same in my 986 in 2004. I clipped the front corner on a vertical post and that flipped me round quicker than the waltzers. Insurance fixed that one for about 13000.

Police man who turned up gave me a right talking to.  If you are unlucky and hit the central reservation at a sharp enough angle but in between the vertical posts you can get the car wedged underneath the barrier because it is so low. If you do that its game over and definitely good night. He said he found one guy's reamins down the grass verge on the opposite side of the motorway. Dont fancy that.

Two bmw  X5s arrived at my scene. The first went sideways on the same river running over the road that I did. The other stopped all following traffic.

The officer’s first words were, “you don’t have to explain what happened here, Sir”

    they were very helpful.

So the insurance company finally gave me a price today to buy back my Wreck. It was way too cheap to say no to, so I said yeah. Not really figured out anything else yet. I quite like the idea of fixing it myself but I don't get much free time so that's tricky and I don't have a drive, off street parking or garage so this would mean leaving it on the road. That has insurance and mot implications which are also complicated as the car will need to be inspected by an engineer once repaired. Anyway let's have some pics shall we.

    oft followed by “Resting Boxster”

    Any clearance issues?

Do you notice any difference in the drive?

I'm toying with the idea of going to the larger circumference on my 996.

    No clearance issues.

deffo feel a difference in drive, but there’s size, type and compound to consider as well as conditions.

Looking forward to putting the 18’s on in a few months, With sticky summer pilot sports and spanking the bejeezus out of them😈

Fitted mine the other, love the way it changes the look of the car, somebody at work said the other day, you’ve got 2 Porsche’s.

ive had the headlining and plastic trim all covered in Boxster red alcantara on the HT and it a lovely place to sit, feels very luxurious, quieter, warmer just feels different, so in away it is like having 2 cars.

if the weather is good, it only takes a couple of mins to take the HT off so not an issue if you get one of those rare sunny winter days

Oh go on! Shoe more pics!!

Love those wheels.  Is the car better, going up to 17s? :)

I certainly like the feel of these. Hard to tell how much of that is new rubber, winter rubber and wider rubber. What part sidewall plays and weight difference.

    im certainly happy with them.

  6. So today I got aligned and boy does it feel good!

which it needed after having a new shock.

so good I decided to up my rim game...

    Now we have:

a winter set (17s) with n2 rated contis

a B road Summer set (16s)  with Pirelli and Goodyear A rated wets front and back respectively

And a summer(track) sticky set (18s) current on Pilot Sports but looking to go more purposeful (AD08/R888r/trofeo🤔)

  7. Meanwhile I took Bambi out for a good little Thrape and returned with 9 litres of fresh 10w40 fully synthetic oil.
gone for the thicker stuff as she’s a bit leggy and I don’t want it blowing past her rings...

Warm up procedure will be gentle. Thh by e mission is get her to 212k miles

My only defence was you would have done the same if you had seen the body and perfectly tailored tight pants the girl was wearing - it was an amazing sight even if she was probably only 17!

Just been out to the car park - the tyres protected the rim perfectly ! <huge sigh of relief>

Think you just sent half the forums imagination running wild!

Fitted some additional insulation to the boot to help reduce heat transfer to the luggage.

I was thinking when that turbo starts working hard, heat protection is going to be required for the boot lid....

    LOVE. THIS. PROJECT. 👍👍👍👍
