Got the first time, I’m actually too ashamed to confess what I’ve done to my 986 today... perhaps one day I’ll come clean, but for now, just know it was all in a good cause...?

Checked in with the garage who are sure it’s bsd fuel or a Lamda sensor. They will drop the fuel and put clean shell fuel in for a good long test and if that doesn’t cure it swap the lamda. Either way, she come home sorted tomorrow. She’s been missed...

Well, at first I thought you’d cracked it! I mean, I absolutely can’t have helped... where else can I check for leaks?
Heres one for the tech savvy...
if my AOS was failing what that create a leak of the kind you discribe? And is there a test that an absolute beginner could perform? I do get a little smoke on start up... then it’s clear...

Loz, sounds more like a Vacumn leak to me? Check the usuals dip stick etc.
Shut the front door!!!
Mom seriously hoping you are right my friend as I have just gone to the boot and found the oil cap was loose! What the actual F@@k!!!?? I’m now obligated to take her for a test drive! Report to follow...

See you like Full English Breakfasts. Had my last Little Chef Full English before Little Chef Died at end of January.
Let me know what the problem was
As I have posted earlier look for the cheapest fixes first Maybe a fuse!I’ve eliminated plugs, coils, MAF and I’m getting an increasingly more intermittent (as in happening less often) stutter under heavy load or at standstill. It’s like a bit of debris is dancing around in the fuel line periodically blocking it up.. I put some shyate 95 fuel in and don’t think that helped.
Im wondering if the pump or relay are at fault.. I forgot to put the cap back on the fuel tank and tried to start it once. It doesn’t like not being able to pressurise.... I wonder if that started something bad...
have a thread looking for a diagnostic tool to borrow or rent, so hope to know better soon...

...instead, I was out around 8am doing some testing of the mighty brazilian! she too has developed a cough and a wheeze... what strange timing that someone would find a two year old post with the same symptoms.
My testing has been inconclusive but points towards a fuel supply issue and as Ive been running a system cleaner through, and the problem seems to be lessening, I am hoping that its been a clogged fuel filter/injector/pump/line issue. Hope springs eternal...

Tuck her up and give her a kiss
I would, but she's dead now.

Today I got mine beached in the snow on my drive. After a little rocking and rolling, I manage to get her back in the Garage. Bu gger!

Nice looking wheel!

Today I smiled as I looked on into the warm and dry garage and behold, there lay a glistening Blue BOXSTER! Roof down ready for when the snow thawed!
Couldnt help but give her a little rub down with some detailing product... she deserves it!

That's for 18s.
17s = 255 / 205
I think? I stand corrected if not.
Cheers, Baggers.
Yes, but we've already covered the desire to square up on a narrower set up....so...
Maybe start a thread in technical forum?

Summer set up is 265 rear 225front.
so both narrower for winter. ?
-
Not inadvertently. Conventional wisdom supports the notion that squarer and narrower are better for winter set up.
-
These are narrow winter profiles ?
-
215/50 R17 front
245/40 R17 Rear
feels like it darts into corners and waits for the rear to follow? More so at 60 but it's not meant to go much over that.
Reckon a Strines run is in order to shake her down...

I gave mine the, "look back admiringly" glance as I jumped in the Audi almost reluctantly this morning to come to work...
I'm going to smile as I turn in and see her parked up proud when her new boots on!
What have YOU done to your 986 today ?

Today I woke up in my big car outside a very large Porsche graveyard
to get a hub for my little car..
drove 130 miles home with the used goodies and had them fitted. Test drivd was entertaining and made up for the fact it’s now raining!
Now I’m selling this bunch of bits...
