It was a nice sunny day here today so I dropped the roof , donned the new beanie and headed off into Northumberland for some "bracing" air

Took the car for an MOT which thankfully it passed, and then washed it and tucked it away in the garage , might not get much of a run out in the near future unless the weather is kind .

How long do you have to wait until the fans start?
Ironically they both kicked in as I was reversing the car into the garage after being out most of the day !

Found out that both fans are working fine in this hot weather

Any more pics of the car / do you have a thread? I did try searching your posts but couldn't find any. It's one of my favourite colours on a 9x6, up there with Speed Yellow and Viola. Neither of them are common.
A few more pictures in the photography section under the title a nice afternoon in Northumberland

@Grizzlee, any pictures of before and after? If you got it done at a bodyshop, would you be kind enough to disclose how much this cost?
@myfirstboxster - that's...bright What colour is your car? Zanzibar or Guards? I'm inclined to say the former...

Fitted my bright orange seat belts ( a tad too bright in hindsight )

Finished work at 1 o'clock , went home , had a spot of lunch and then got the Boxster out of hibernation and then headed off into Northumberland for a drive along most of Hadrian's wall , near empty roads and lovely warm sunshine

Fitted a pair of Toyosport headers and a good second-hand exhaust and cats , every time i looked at the bolts between the manifolds and Cats there was less and less metal so i figured it was only a matter of time before it started to blow and the rattling Cat shields were starting to annoy me. I managed to get the exhaust from a local breakers yard so gave it the once over before splashing the cash . I was dreading the snapped bolt saga but luckily they all came out no bother which was a big sigh of relief . I don't know if it made any difference but i got the engine up to temperature and then undid the bolts , maybe the aluminium heads expanded a fraction more than the steel bolts ? , need to finish it off tomorrow as it was getting a bit chilly late on , just the cross bracing and bumper to go back on . One thing that did surprise me was how loose the Lambda sensors were in the old Cats , one just unscrewed by hand !

Changed the boot lid gas struts courtesy of Frazerpart , £22 delivered .

Took my car through an MOT which thankfully it passed , only a 1000 miles since last its last test but always a worry with a 16 yr old car ! .

Changed the gearbox oil , don't know if it was the original but if it was it did look good for 106k , good to see there was no metal filings on the drain plug .

Strange, I fitted one last year and best mod I have done so far, what didn't you like?
Just thought it had a "dead" feel to the gear change or it could just be me !

Took out the quick shift kit and went back to the standard shift setup , just couldn't get away with it , I did fit the new bushes into the old assembly as there was a bit of slop in the old mechanism , feels much better now .

Took the front Bumper off the clean the gunge out of the radiators in anticipation of a decent summer , sigh ,BOTH aircon rads badly corroded and the radiators behind them are also looking on their last legs , one step forward etc

If it's on a public road will there be a road tax situation ?
