I must admit I'm not looking forward to it, but what's the worst that can happen...?  On second thoughts, don't answer that!

Just use T-cut and elbow grease? got my glue off easily with that - took a while though. The other option is to use a hair dryer to soften the glue, then rub off with your fingers

Welcome, won't that process totally remove any UV protection that was on there previously? I t-cut mine once recently and it still had a bit of shyate on it, but I was reluctant to do another polish..

The polishing kits come with a liquid UV protector to use once polished that stops them fading again

  3. Washed and polished mine in the sun today - too hot really, but Poorboys Blackhole glaze and Nattys black wax paste are blooming amazing! Even in direct sun they go on easy and more importantly come off easy leaving a good deep shine. Not up to @detail1 standards, but pretty good to my eyes.

removed the Boxster S sticker from the boot lid and had a use a little R2 to remove the glue residue, bit of a tyre shine and Autoglym vinyl care and I’m done. No one can accuse me of being wedded to one brand of cleaning product! 🤣

Looking at that 1st pic again I'm not happy with the power wires going over that sharp edge under the rubber seal, so I'll probably splice it into the cd changer power cable instead.

There’s a convenient hole there in front of the battery, a little rubber gromit and no splicing required!

    As promised and

for ye (Matt) of little faith:

Torx screws and clips painted yesterday2lIK0WO.jpg

Front nearside arch liners cleaned and 'waxed' with Wonder Wheels tyre gelF02m7G5.jpg

Today's work started with front sections of the rear near side arch liner.

    As removed after pressure washing4qWEYTH.jpg

After scrubbing and removal of tar spotsIZmd8TD.jpg

    After treatment with tyre gelNMe1VGT.jpg

Unfortunately it turns out the rear section has been riveted in place at one point presumably due to a problem with the clip so had to clean and treat that in situ.

Refitting the front liners was a pig but got there in the end.

Have now got the front off side liners off, ready for de-tarring, and pressure washed the arch itselfD374rfV.jpg

Have also paints the screws and clips ready for refitting tomorrow. Then it's on to the rear off side arch.

Hats off to you sir! That is an impressive amount of work going on there 🤠

He meant the link was to a 981 Black Edition, not 987...

yes, sorry, i was getting over excited about using a useless film quote that i have retained in my brain while useful information has fallen by the wayside :)

  7. i've been doing the same process with my rotary and seem to be getting half decent results. I did get some polish trails left, but have been told that a second pass with another polish will remove a lot of those.

I have poorboys blackhole on my Basalt Black paint and its brilliant, but does need a sealing wax to keep it looking good

  8. Dropped mine off for its MOT this morning - is due on the 28th along with the road tax. If it wasn't for the builders still using the drive as a branch of Jewsons, i would have parked it up and sorn'd until things start to open up again. But as i have to park it on the road during the day, it needs to be legal

sounds like you were lucky - some of the pics and videos going around this morning of parks and beaches are proper mental!

Don't you find you can't much speed up with the rear wheel like that? 😛

Just ordered a new window regulator from Porsche Reading. price was quite competitive at £151.30 inc.

Something to do if I find myself at home over the next few weeks!

good luck, i let my mechanic man do it for me when i broke mine - £325 all in so a decent saving if you can do it yourself

I am just up the road on Gabriel Park.

Blimey - there's no hiding! :) yes, that'll be us, causing much tutting by bus drivers as we have to park on the road during the day - wave as you go past next time!
