How much do they charge for on site fitting? I’m seriously considering doing this and if I can turn it in to a couple of days road trip out of it, would rather do that than faf around trying to fit it myself (or more likely paying someone in the UK to do it for me)

The price advertised on Gert's website includes the fitting so great value.  The only addition will be for fixtures and fittings which undoubtedly will be corroded. From memory this added another €45 to the invoice.

I took my dad as passenger and we did the trip in a day so quite busy but great fun. My friend and his partner made a weekend of it.

Whatever you decide I'm sure you won't be disappointed 👍

Sounds perfect. 5 of us are planning a trip over to see Gert in March, with 3 cars having the exhaust modified. Can't wait.

My wife has been saying I'm a child for 30 years 😂

I went over in August with my Boxster and a friend took his Cayman. Gert and his wife made us extremely welcome keeping us plied with tea and coffee whilst the work was carried out. As per ever other review I read, we too are both delighted with the Carnewal GT 😁😁.

Have a great trip over and enjoy 👍

  3. Hi,

For me the throw on the 987 is about right so I'm just keen to eradicate the play in the lever. Most reviews that I have read suggest that the GT3 mechanism gives riffle bolt precision , exactly what I'm aiming for.

Fully appreciate its more costly that the SSK and as you say wouldn't want anyone to spend the extra cash and be disappointed with the same / similar throw👍

  4. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the GT3 shifter, it's on my winter list with replacement cables, gearbox oil change, colour coded console and crest embossed arm rest. Probably like most of us the list never ends, tick a few bits off, then add a few bit on!

Everything I have found on it thus far makes for great reading👍

    @Jonttt Hi,

Regarding the short shift,  have you noticed and difficulty in selecting 1st and 2nd gears from cold? I've read that this can be an issue so curious as I will be upgrading my selector over winter for either the GT3 one or the genuine SSK.

    Cheers

    Hi there

Mine was a custom built by a member on here but it was built to a similar oem GT3 shifter assembly. Yes it should be monkey in monkey out, just mark your shifter cables before you remove them 👍

    Perfect,  many thanks 👍😀

    Good work 👍

I always updated my shifter assembly’s in both my manual Boxsters, makes a huge difference! My last one was a GT3 style with the metal bearings and bushes, super slick 👌

    Hi Lonewolfgjp

The metal bushed GT3 selector is on my winter project list along with new cables.

Mine is a 2005 S 987.1 do you have note of the part number for the GT3 selector and do you know if it's a straight fit into mine?

    Many thanks in advance.
