  2. Cat N on a 2k car....yeah ok then, after all its easy to rack up 2k if you need new bumpers etc.

Cat N on a 10k car... no thanks, thats a fair bit of damage to cost over 10k in repairs even at Porsche prices.

However, saying that, it does look a beauty and if it was me, I still would have probably bought it..lol

Steering wheel cover done very happy with it for the price warning OCD person don’t get the centre red band

Out of interest Kevin, how much did the cover cost and do they do different cars?

The steering wheel in my Audi S3 is looking a bit tatty and if the price is good its something I might consider.

@red rocket, those ramps look interesting. Do they have a flat portion at the top, I can't make it out from the photo? I presume they are more stable than using another set of jack stands at the rear, or is there another reason for using them? Do you reverse up onto them, or jack up and lower the car onto them? So many questions!

I've a set similar, really stable with a flat (curved to fit wheel), you can drive up mine and then remove the 'ramp' part which is actually quite handy.

No substitute for heat and tuning them lots to break up the internal corrosion on these droplink bolts once they are seized in place.  Just pressing out was reported by one owner as needing nearly a 5t load on a 12t press.  You'll never achieve that with a hammer...

Luckily I managed to hammer it out at work last night, just needed a mate to hold it up against the jaws of a fitting vice so it had something solid to react against, I couple of good hits and out it came, it’s surprising what you can achieve it you hit something hard enough...😁😉

  6. Today, I mostly removed the drivers side front strut as the damper has spilled its guts.

Top droplink bolt is stuck in solid so I couldn’t just remove the damper, therefore I’ve removed the front mount complete with the lower arm and I’ll drive the bolt out in work tonight (really big hammer...lol)

  7. Just had a great quote from A-plan, £279 fully comp with legal cover and £250 excess, thats for two of us to drive with 5k mileage.

My E-Sure renewal was £247 but the excess was £500 compulsory and £100 voluntary, Even though it a bit cheaper I loved the fact that A-plan answer their phone straight away, are very friendly and helpful and there is another means of communication via this forum.

All in all, two thumbs good from me, Im sure you'll be ensuring my Mini in a few weeks.

Because it’s for sale. I sadly just don't get to use it as much as planned and hoped. It’s quite a bit of money tied up in a car I just don't get to enjoy like I’d love to. On top of that, I’ve just incurred a pretty big knee injury so can’t drive for the foreseeable future.

Bad news mate, been there, done that, but needs must.

Some one is going to get a real nice car, hope you better soon fella and I'm sure you'll be back sometime soon.
