she's an absolute beauty! i love how the white and black elements contrast so well, I'm still in the 'look back at her after parking' phase.

You’ll always be in that phase - probably pat her bum as well 😊👍

Wanted to hill climb mine but never got the chance in the end - mine was British Racing Green as well and was called Kermit ( as in Kermit the frog ) then had a bare metal respray in cherry red - did the London to Brighton Classic Car run twice in her though - happy days 😊

@Danncus  Make sure when you take the photo that you have something in an image that shows the depth of the hole, that is important. Also look on the council website, they should have a report a pothole section, see if the pothole that has caused your damage is listed, if it is then you have a problem as the council can then claim it is in hand to be fixed. I had a claim paid by Blackpool council when a raised manhole cover ripped the anti roll bar off my Frog eye Sprite, there were no warning signs.

Whoo hoo!  @Toddie A fellow previous frog Eye Sprite owner - mine was 9281 ME  - looking at its MOT history it's just been stored since 2007 - (sorry to go off topic - hope you get somewhere with the damage claim @Danncus)

  4. Had a whatsapp call with Lee from Cotswold Porsche  at 9am this morning who told me which fuses to pull out for the radio - now need to see if this stops the parasitic drain that’s turning my weekend toy into my daily/ every other daily!

Design 911 ensure you ring them and give reg as I found out on the repair off my pals there are two types , I think Lee paid £95

Yep! Had this over Christmas, parts seem to be getting harder to come by. There are two types for the drivers side door - OEM £355 plus vat - the other much cheaper - mine was obviously the more expensive one!! I needed them for both doors and Cotswold Porsche sourced a second hand pair from Latvia for me as there was nothing available for my 07 at a sensible price

When is the track day please?

It’s May 13th - Go to the forum heading BoXa. net Meets Trackdays and Events - all the info is on the thread Group Track Day 13th May Donnington - quite a few of us are staying at an hotel the night before - some of the boys are bringing their other halves as well.

I adore it... 40k, absolutely immaculate inside and out and has been truly loved and adored by the 2 previous owners.

There is a snag however... I had a better audio experience in my teenage years driving my mums Ford KA around with an FM receiver linked to an MP3 player. It's the only drawback and will be the first thing I look to upgrade / change. They are atrocious, it's even making me think they're faulty but I think I'm just over thinking it.

Does anyone have any experience in upgrading the stock speaker system with a specialist in the UK? I have little to zero interest in trying to do this manually and whilst I've tinkered with custom mods to other cars (most recently the Z4 I had until last week) I really don't want to touch the immaculate trim / interior in this. I've already have people ask me if the plate is private as they cannot believe its a 2013 model.

    So, any recommendations?

Looking forward to joining the community, I'm head over heals in love with the driving experience of this beautiful piece of engineering already!

Bring her up to Donnington for our track day

  8. OOhh a lovely white one - well done! Looks a beauty - most people tend to upgrade to Apple Carplay, my 987 SE is still stock radio & CD and they are rubbish - a couple have bought a new head unit from Ali Express but I've seen plenty of posts where things have gone wrong with those - someone who has upgraded will be on shortly for you

  9. Had her MOT done at Lee’s at Cotswold Porsche - just needed a bulb for the left head light that went on me on Saturday night - so fingers crossed nothing needed until I bring her up for a pre track day check over - might bring the minor service forward by a couple of months and get that done at the same time so have new oil and change the brake fluid 👍

Just spoke to the lovely Fran from Howden (the new name for A-plan) and got a good quote.

    £264 full comp on a 2.7 987 (07)

For info, limited to 5k, garaged, me and the boss, both with clean licences and over 50.

    I'm happy with that.

    Rog.

I use them for both the Cherry Bomb and my Daily Fiesta - I also pay an extra £60 a year on each of them for a separate total loss plus policy - this pays out an extra 25 % on top of your payout if the car is written off.

I've also been invited to Silverstone by Porsche at the end of the month, they must be quiet lol. They asked what I wanted to drive and I said anything but an SUV so let's see. Last time I did Silverstone was in a KTM crossbow and I puked up at the side of the track so let's see if I can hold my lunch down this time !

I did the Porsche Experience with @TrevTee a few years ago - after driving 718s and Caymans on the kick plate, ice hill, and the handling circuits ourselves, we were being driven by an instructor over the obstacle course in a Cayenne when over the radio came " clean up team, we've had another one" - someone was being thrown around by an instructor doing donuts, handbrake turns and spins and had thrown up all over the car, all in the air vents etc, a common occurrence. When it came to my turn to be thrown around I was surprised at how violent it was, something broke whilst we were being thrown around, a very loud metallic twang, and the instructor just looked at me and said "oops" - no wonder I had to sign a disclaimer to say I wasn't pregnant before I was thrown about. Have fun :bana: hope the weather is good for you.

Yeah, I still do the same a month later (well, I look out my bedroom window onto the drive). I've never been interested in badges before, I always chose cars for their value/reliability etc. The Porsche is the first 'prestige' badge I've owned and just saying I own one feels good (sad, I know). In fact, when I tell people about it, I keep hastily adding "...but it's an old, knackered one", just so they don't think I've won the lottery 🙂

I don’t know why I feel guilty when I say I have a Porsche as well as a DD - but like you I swiftly follow it up with it cost half the price of a new Ford Fiesta, or for the same price of a new Ford Fiesta I bought a 2 year old Fiesta and a convertible Porsche - I hope you pat her bottom every day - it’s the law!

Mrs Baron is the main driver, so look out for her driving, I’m still enjoying the 911.

    Whats happening at Thruxton?

I'm afraid you would have to sneak out of church - I've posted in the meets section there is a coffee run on Sunday 19th November - Thruxton doesn't seem to have done hardly any this year, but has one on then. Glad Karen's eyes got sorted and she's now driving the silver "coffin on wheels" ( I love your headlining really ) 😁

  14. Took her for an early morning run around the Cotswolds - got waves back from an 18 plate Boxster, a 10 plate Cayman but not the X reg Boxster. She’s pig filthy now so going to give her a quick wash - who else on here is in the Cotswolds apart from our site Princess?
