At 2.45 a.m got out of bed because the alarm had gone off. No idea why but the wife was seriously p*ssed off, and the neighbours probably even more so.
Might find out this morning !
Poor old Bradders.
Didnt you let SWMBO know you were going on a Boxster run and had set the clock for 2.45 as the meet was so far away!

I can’t see the point if you have an already fettled 2.5 as they seem to be loved by the purist market.
Again the places you can use the extra oomph are diminishing as there are too many speed cameras. As has been stated we get out dragged by turbo diesels not to mention the latest milk floats.
If it were Blackjack personally I’d stick and not twist!

I used a thinly rolled length of blue tack, did the job just fine

Heard a tale the other day of Volvo buying back cars with known history for far more than their listed price, not because of rarity value but because a shortage of chips in China means there’s an 8 month or more wait for new cars. I’d be happy to get £2,500 above list. Then again WBAC value old Boxster at less than 10% of that.
By the way Woodleigh have always been on the higher price scale in my opinion.
Fish with your Chips anyone?

Sorry Dodgster you know why there are no replies don’t you.
The sun is shining the temperature is rising and we are all out driving with hoods down getting unmercifully sunburnt while stuck in traffic jams.
All will be carefully monitoring their temperature gauges worrying if the fans will kick in at 95 degrees, or if a 20 year old pipe will burst and they will suffer the ignominy of going home on the back of an AA truck (obviously other brands are available)Hopefully someone will get back to you when it rains.

You can take it with you if the wife finds the bill, you’ll be buried in it!

Have you thought there may be air in the system?
I’d bleed it by the book as air locks and boxsters go hand in hand

I have a 1999 986 with what I believe are standard fit tyres. I agree with you that without traction control (which I haven’t got) 225 on the rear may provoke rather to many ‘oops are my reactions quick enough’ moments. Especially as I am past pensionable age.
From that you can assume my own ar*e end is loose enough without help!
cheers Dave

Maybe it’s sat too long hibernating during Covid.
Me it’s just my back that creaks getting in and out, cars been doing doing miles all through winter lockdown, fingers crossed for the future like a sewing machine

That’s £350 is a start then on the £1,500 to £2,000 we mostly reckon it costs in the first year of Porsche ownership.
Well done on the diy by the way!

What tyres
in 986
I reckon an 18 year old with no road experience will most likely come off the road at some point in the first 12 months of having a licence irrespective of what tyres are on his car or bike.
Age and car handling abilities are more important than tyre choice so long as they aren’t illegal.

What tyres
in 986
Cheddar Bob
I feel a similar way. I inherited my Boxster 2 years ago with Accelera Ph1 cheap tyres on which having read the forum, people call ditch finders.
Personally as long as I have 4 matched tyres with decent tread depth I don’t care what they are and in reality drive to my limits and not the tyres. I am also sure that the car like a dog will bite if provoked too far and self preservation rules.
Happy days and happy Covid free Xmas to all
