Yes just seen the carbon variant.

This one states it is compatible with both Boxster and Cayman??

What I don't understand is why one is compatible to both variants of the 981 and the fibre model is just for the caymen.

Should be compatible the only difference is the height they rise up to.

interesting when i get some time i will look into further,  I mean they look the same i didn't know if the caymen was just slightly different on the rear end shape

The Deeign911 one you found...are they not compatible?

they told me no its only caymen,  ive also called them and they are clueless when you call them even though it shows boxster the guy on the phone said probably a error ,  they are local to me so would be handy if it did

so about £120 on top of the purchase price and it comes painted though (based on 5% duty which ive just made up in my head).

I looked into a ducktail spoiler a few weeks back, i couldn't find any UK suppliers strangely enough, 911 design had one for a caymen but they are useless when i spoke to them, they said he isnt one for a boxster :(

just seen its 2.5% so looks like £114.75 for vat and duty

    Very cool!

Really sets the car off, the black lettering against Guards red a good choice too.

I spotted this "kit" version pre-painted with the brackets.  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-2016-Porsche-Boxster-981-Ducktail-Rear-Wing-Spoiler-PAINTED-/133643272723. but then also spotted it's in Florida :(

Great video @Daz car looking awesome (and very well detailed!) on some of those shots

how much do you think you need to add on for duty and vat when HMRC spot it?

  6. Check battery I had something similar and it was one of the post connectors not tight enough on the battery.   Could be battery needs to be changed.

  7. I was looking at these and I was talking to a painter and he said he would want to see them before e

Quoting for them, Some of them have little dimples on them others are smooth.

Does this not reduce the amount of airflow?

I dont see how,  i took it for a run yesterday for about 40mins and kept a eye on the temp and didnt make any difference.  I found dried leaves in mine when i cleaned them out and it came from porsche dealership

Can you recommend a DIY ceramic coating?

For wheels or for paintwork?   Wheels o have switched to KKD revolve, I just think it's amazing product and seems to really hold up well.  I did the brake calipers aswell.   Bodywork I've only used grechniqs exo and crystal serum, but as patt says paintwork has to be spot on as it will show every swirl and mark and once cured it's pretty hard to remove.

Spent all afternoon with the dremel and 600 grit mini flap wheel, then 800 and 1200 by hand. Really pleased with the result although my thumb needs a transplant 😭. Hopefully get the laquer on tomorrow, then only 3 more wheels to do 😭😭.

Beforehand in many places around the rim. When I got the discoloured laquer of there was no corrosion on the alloy.

looking good,   ceramic coat those bad boys aswell, that way no harsh wheel cleaning liquid needed,  just car shampoo will be enough

I enquired about vinyl wrapping my headlights and was put off, also coincidently I was reading my user manual this morning and saw a warning in their about putting film on headlights. I think it can restrict the heat escaping and could cause delamination of the Headlight Lens ( £1000 each). So I would think twice about it. cheers   alan

They already have a film over the headlight and its quite a common problem for the boxster headlights in particular to delamination, porsche use to swap them if you took it in with the problem.

Would this not just make the already poor standard headlight brightness Even worse?

I upgraded the xenon bulbs but its really not that dark and tbh I don't really drive mine much in the dark

  13. applied tinted film to headlights,  this is the best ive tried,  over the last few weeks ive ordered and tried lots but either too dark or film was poor quality and hard to stretch without it looking poor.   this is light smoke and its just a little bit darker than stock.

Going to try to apply some to plexiglass wind diffuser tomorrow.

As an alternative cheap fix for this - get your self a few grades of sandpaper, start low and smooth it out, mask it up and finish and blend with a rattle can of clear coat.  Any time you notice any stone chips on the coat you need to have them filled in or this will happen again.

did this to my audi s3 wheels and came up really well, go slowly and its surprisingly easy to do a decent repair and ive had no issues with it lasting.

  15. fitted spacers today 7mm front,  15mm rear,  much happier although they come with a security bolt and im not a fan of them so need to swap that out at some stage.  really happy with the look now.  Tinted reverse light and then had a play around with headlamps, pretty tricky but got there in the end,  too dark and and it should have been light grey but i think it looks a bit brown so took it off.  got some spray tint tomorrow so will have play with that tomorrow and if that works well i might do the windbreaker aswell.

  16. do love a delivery day, finally ordered some spacers as i was running out of things to do.  Its been cleaned and polished by an inch of its life,  just need to get out there and enjoy the sun.   Will fit on saturday played it conservative and went 7mm up front and 15mm at back as i didnt want the fresh refurbed wheels to be stone peppered too much

    Painted wheel bolts black aswell.
