Still though I'm happy with what I have and it is definitely a step up from standard and I've already been enjoying it for a year, but with the costs not too dissimilar, I think I'd opt for Carnewal if I had my time again.

I went with the DAB aerial option that didn't need to mess with trim removal and it has been working pretty well for me. Made some longer journeys recently too and admit there are some patches of loss of signal in some areas, but would say pretty minimal (i.e. 200 miles on motorways maybe 10-20 miles without solid reception). Also locally for me works great except for a few bits with more built up buildings in town. Was only around a tenner from Halfords and seemed like less install work.

Meeting up might be a little while off yet, but did get round to recording a quick clip from my 987.2 S install. Car was already warmed up from a drive (so background noise is the cooling fans), so not a cold start but a couple of quick revs to just under 4k, then a bit beyond.
And yes, I know I need to have the drive de-weeded 😄.

I’m from Bisley and an engineer myself but use Eporshe for all the bits I can’t do. They really know there stuff and are very reasonable and pre Covid dare I say quick.
They also sell the spares via Spyder Performance so I guess have a few on hand.

Yep, hope things get back to normal a bit more and would be good to catch up at a meet - although sounds like Blackbushe might no longer be in the running as a local spot.
That is 2 people saying Eporsche are meant to be good so will see when it comes to the time for my first service / work, whether I go for those or try Purely9 as a new option & will let people know how I get on.

Not all technically today, but a busy week hopefully finishing with 'works' to have next weekend onwards to just enjoy driving more than what the wife would say is 'tinkering'.
- MOT passed, though advisory for cracking on the ageing tyres
- 4 new Michelin PilotSport 4S fitted - managed to do about 100 miles for bedding them in a little, so should be all good to properly put through their paces with the next shopping run next weekend
- Managed to replace the PCM 3 (with Bose) head unit yesterday & finish setting up today. All in all pleased with the update but want more time to be able to go out and enjoy it now.
PS - not needed any local servicing done yet and without travelling to far Northway Porsche looked like my best bet, but have had a local recommendation from my tyre fitter to use Paul Stevens (Purely9), based in Yateley - has anyone on here also used to be able to provide advice?

Passed 1st MOT since owning, so quite happy and nice little celebratory drive on way home 😊.
Did though get advisory that all 4 tyres weren't low on tread but all have some cracks - kind of knew it was coming, so looks like will be dropping some money for some Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S this week.

Nothing photo worthy, but lots of picky little jobs done:
- changed the alignment on the litronic headlights after realising whilst driving in the dark that they didn't throw out light far enough to see pot holes until after you'd hit one. Took a few attempts against lines on a brick wall and then some test drives on the roads at night to check not blinding people, but happier now - might need to be adjusted at MOT time I guess, but that is months off and at least I can see the road in the meantime
- think I have fixed the annoying rattle / click that the clear wind deflector used to make occasionally. Carefully cut some of the fluffy side of some self adhesive velcro to little strips and stuck around both bottom corners which I think is where the noise was coming from
- wasted a load of time researching and buying the right coolant to top up, only to realise that I should have made sure that when I initially checked, the car was on a flat road and not the slope of my drive - after getting it from the shop and then about to top up on a nice flat road, realised I had enough anyway 😞
- having heard some click / tap noises from what sounds like air con / ventilation fans every now and again, made sure it wasn't the USB cable I'd run behind the central console to power my phone and haven't heard it since, but early days yet and it seems a bit intermittent. All the heat / cold & direction settings seem to work, but it definitely makes some noises from passenger footwell every now and again mostly when just getting in & setting off
Having cumulatively spent a chunk of time on the above, did make sure I kept some time to go out and test my handy work on a rare dry day today, and realise once again just how good they are 🙂

Oh - almost forgot, also noticed some steering wobble a few days ago, but luckily was just a £25 fix for wheel balancing 👍.
Downside though was he said that the fronts didn't really have that much longer to go, and as when I switch it will probably be for a totally different tyre than it has all round at the moment, think I'd prefer to swap all 4 instead of just the fronts, so sounds like a £750-£850 job to budget for soon if I go for Michelin Pilot Super Sport 4S as planned 😟.

- clocked past 30k miles with recent driving
- did 400 or so mile round trip to get Revolution exhaust mod done 👍
- replaced the interior door handles with some good as new ones from eBay
- spent more money I didn't need to on a nice Porsche branded oil top up case, and a Porsche petrol can for the long trip (just in case), but need to get some sticky velcro to keep it in place like the oil instead of sliding all over the place
- got a rechargeable tracker and spent a while setting it up

After a installing the Porsche logo puddle lights (2 min job), then a slight issue with the last of the interior LED bulb switch over, also added the following couple of Porsche branded parts in the missing slots in the car...

Well it was yesterday technically, but finished off most of the interior LED bulbs (except lost one so waiting for another delivery 😞), and eventually got round to giving the car a wash myself since the first time I've owned it. Came up pretty nice as was only a wash - is meant to have had ceramic applied though before I got it, so hopefully that helps.

Got part way through replacing normal bulbs with some of the bundled pack of LEDs from ebay. Ran out of time between meetings but managed to get the quick ones done for rear number plate and inside the frunk & boot - think the footwell ones may take a bit longer, but prefer the whiter look so far.

PSM errors after battery reconnect are “standard”. There is a set procedure (turn wheel left 20 degrees then centre then right 20 deg then centre then drive forward a few feet at more than 5 mph or something similar) but a “drive round the block” is the normal fix.
You may also have to reset the window top position so that one touch open and close works. From memory that’s close let go, close again and hold for a couple of seconds, then open all the way. Let go. Open again for a few seconds. Do that both sides.

Ah - didn't know that there was a set process for this, but I guess kind of accidentally I followed pretty much those steps for clearing the errors, and good to know I may need to rest the windows too as wouldn't have thought of trying that 👍.
Cheers - am happy with it too as initially was thinking with only black with grey stitching everywhere else that it may not work / look a bit out of place with the red stitching, but I think the needles, calipers are enough to tie it together.

Managed to get round to switching over steering wheels to the already re-trimmed one I got from CliveH on here.
As per the videos it was a bit fiddly with the end of an allen key to get it to push evenly on the airbag release to get both sides to pop loose at the same time but did only take 2-3 mins. Got all re-fitted and torque tightened and was hoping / thinking job was all good, but then after re-connecting the battery and trying, I got a few warning messages on startup ☹️.
Think from memory it was PSM not working, something to do with a steering based light not working and another PSM error related message - so tried wheel turned full lock in both directions a few times but no difference and also just key on & off didn't change any either so though it would be problems...
However, after actually starting the engine and leaving running for a few mins / driving off and back on the driveway, they all cleared within a minute or 2, so hoping that maybe more down to me just disconnecting the battery for 20 mins before starting the steering wheel swap, rather than something maybe steering wheel or airbag specific.
Took out for a decent drive after and stopped / started a few times and no lights back, so hoping all ok.
Wasn't sure if I'd prefer the black & red with textured trim compared to the standard plain black (as car & trim all black), but really like it. Nicely padded and thicker overall (which is what I was after), and also doesn't really feel like the overall wheel is much / any bigger, so a win all round & thanks CliveH for selling it 👍

car goes on to deep sleep. Stops listening to the remote. You can just lift the door handle to wake it up.
Mine still sleeps while on Ctek. Just a quick lift of the drivers door handle is enough to wake it.

Thanks for the tip on that, but the remote battery monitor I have isn't the CTEK one that goes with the charger. Looks like first day or so it charged up from around 12.5v to 15v and since then almost dropped to just over 13v - but now remains constant at that mark instead of it dropping each day without use before I got round to hooking it up.
Will hopefully get time to take it out for a drive at the weekend and see what the pattern is when I connect up again after, but does now seem to be keeping it at a constant 13v instead of it dropping daily.

Eventually got round to sorting outdoor power supply and several CTEK extension cables to get it hooked up to keep the battery maintained. That and the bluetooth battery monitor means I no longer have to worry about it getting too flat to even use the remote to open the doors like it did after a couple of weeks away 🙂

Think it ended up being around £350 or so with import fees and him using someone to colour match it.
Only tricky bit really is the fact that it uses adhesive strips to mount so you only really get one shot at getting it straight and then not really possible to loosen bolts etc. to adjust after you have stuck it as it covers the bolts - for me I think I am maybe 1 or maybe 2mm or so too far over to the drivers side but that is being really picky and judging roughly by what the gap feels to my fingers at each end at the joins. When I actually step away to look at it though, looks straight enough to me.
In my opinion it fills the OEM space really well and provides a much cleaner finish to the side that is visible once it raises up. Couple more pics with 2 showing the slight difference in gap at either side, but good enough for me & not going to un-stick just to move a tiny amount.

Hiya - thanks for the nudge @Menoporsche 🙂
Bear in mind that mine is 987.2, though I imagine / guess that it is exactly the same options for fitting and paint:
1 - you are right to be worried as it was definitely a one time thing once you're happy with your test fitting and peel away all the self adhesive strips and go for the final fit. Also with some strips on the top edge and also some on the side to try and make contact at the same time, it is a bit of a leap of faith. I tested it lots of times to try and work out with my fingers at the edges, how to land it but it is a bit nervy when you go for it. In the end, maybe / possibly I ended up 1mm out but then to be honest the shape may not be totally mirrored at both edges anyway so overall I'm really happy with it. Possibly I guess you could maybe try and rest it really gently and see if you could pull it away to adjust, but I think if you did try that, you may remove / damage the adhesive a bit and then not get a good fit - I'd just say test it lots of times before you go for it and then commit fully.
2 - yes, I went for the option of providing my paint code and paying more for it to be sent to the UK all painted and ready to fit. If I already had a trusted local paint guy, then yes, perhaps it may have been possible to get a slightly better paint finish - but to be honest I'm not sure if it is maybe never quite the same as the finish you get on actual metal bodywork anyway and that may be me just being ultra picky.
On that first point, possibly there is a way to get the spoiler fully off but I think you'd have to remove from where the metal bars join the car rather than just the plastic part you are sticking it to. If you then do that, I think it would be really tricky to bolt it all back on after the ducktail is in place as it takes up more room that the standard one so I think is tricky to get to the bolts again.
I'm not looking forward to working out if I'd ever have to adjust or remove it to be honest.
