Have this same rear suspension refresh to tackle on my 2010 987.2. Question - did you have to detach the half shaft to have enough wiggle room to get the rear shock absorber out?

...i concur on the costs, budget £1k per annum on average on most premium brand motors.... porsche included.
FWIW, My ownership costs to date, 2.9 2010 with 89K miles on at purchase - other than services and tyres, all these costs are with me doing the spannering.
Original owner (i'm second) had all servicing done at OPC from new, averaging £1,155 per annum over her 9 years of ownership (excluding extended warranty purchases)

Bought rear tuning forks and rear toe arms to complete the set ready for when I get around to replacing the rear suspension components - taking advantage of Spyder midweek 10% discount offer

Glad its sorted - interesting there's something unusual in the original setup - the DRL's on 987.2 as standard are the thin LED strips at the bottom of the foglights - but there is a PIWIS coding setup that changes that to side lights - I have seen one car coded like that - and now it seems there is the same config on yours - I wonder what/why/when that is different.
For what it is worth, my standard 2010 non-xenon 2.9 : the DRLs are the low beam headlight and taillight when DRL function selected. Pretty useless as DRLs.

This thread describes HPFP related issues on a 981 Cayman - maybe symptons similar to yours?

Nice one. Would be great if you can post up a guide on here for fitting….👍🏻
Not a full guide, but above tells the story and links to the Chris’s garage guide video that I relied on -

Indicator unit rear. for RHD Cars
Fits:
Porsche 987 MKII Boxster 2009>>
Porsche 987C MKII Cayman 2009>>
This product supersedes Porsche's old part numbers:
98763142703 (LEFT) / 98763142803 (RIGHT)I mentioned these in the for sale section, as I'm assuming they are made by ULO, per the Porsche originals, so they look very good value - wondered if anyone knows for sure?
SCB Dismantlers quoted nearly the same for a used 12 year old Porsche part ("Price wise you are looking at £250 for the nsr lamp unit (ref 511723)", off https://www.scbvehicledismantlers.co.uk/single-breaker/?ref=38544732)

Cured my niggling issue - " a feeling that car is running on a slightly uneven road surface at 30-35mph, when in fact the road is smooth. "
Fix?
Reduce rear tyre pressure from 35 to 31 PSI !
For 987.2, the door pillar 30/31 front /rear advice should be followed it seems.

Another potential adjustment that helps with softtop top of window dripping ingress is to adjust the windows to angle in more, creating a tighter seal. You should try hanging a sheet of A4 paper over top of door windows, closing door, then should be unable to pull the paper out. Pelican have a help guide on this, including the bungs you remove at the base of door and bolts to loosen to allow regulator to move in, or out.

I had a leak like this but on drivers side and with the softtop. Cured it by clearing accumulated gunk out of channel that runs within front window pillar rubber seal, from top of windscreen downwards.

How much did it all cost?
Fitting myself, same parts as listed here plus bump stops and bearing thrust washers, cost me £640 from design911

Forgot about jacking point pad (again!) - that's 3 lost in 2 years....

Replaced all the coil packs.
Originals look like new, despite being nearly 13 years old and with 99k miles. on them. Having seen the cracked and corroded ones being pulled out of 986’s it looks like the 987.2 design improved the heat and weather protection.

Re Are you getting any issues currently that makes you want to change them?
Only a feeling that car is running on a slightly uneven road surface at 30-35mph, when in fact the road is smooth. This is on damp, rainy days. Noticed the next day, with sunny weather and dry since the previous run, no such lumpiness. So, that's what I'm hoping will go away with new coil packs.
Did not know about the live running OBDII section - always using the "Diagnostics" menu, thanks for that!

Anyone out there got any figures for fuel pressure when cold prior to start, ie just ignition on then same figure once it's fired up? Be interesting to see how they compare with mine. went to start it from cold tonight and my fuel rail pressure was about 150psi with ignition on, when statrted it rose to about 1100psi at fast idle, about 1100 rpm, then dropped down to 660psi or so when the tickover dropped. I also had all 3 error codes appear again, banks 1 & 2 too lean and P1094 ( Implausible Mass Air Flow Ahead Of Throttle Valve)
Tried to get you these figures then when could not find the options on icarsoft realised probably not available as mine is the non DFI 2.9 987.2 !
Loosening my oil cap slightly also made it run like a dog. Removing altogether was easy.
Re coils, was just fishing for some possible justification of the spend, as I have bought new whilst the old are still "sight unseen" , having done nearly 100K and can see never replaced from the extensive all-OPC records on my 13 year old model. On their way from Autodoc via Evri, so expected any time next year...

How about - Damp getting into cracked coil packs, causing long start then lumpiness until dried out. Then ok until left long enough for damp to get in again?
No idea really, but having just bought a new set of packs for my 2.9, I’m hoping they will cure a slight lumpiness I feel initially on using the car after being left a few days…

Re amp repairers,
No actual experience of their repair handiwork, but when I was looking to fit rear speakers in Feb 2022, came across these:
ASK amp repair outfit , Chris at boserepairexperts.co.uk. He confirmed that the amp in the 997.2 does have an extra module to support rear speaker channels in the amp, hence the difference in part number (997 645 442 00) with that in the 987.2;
Tore Bergvill does not repair the 987.2 amps (yet) as no great demand to service these to date - this might have changed as year old status

Checked and topped up steering fluid reservoir with 60ml of chf202. 60ml lost over 18 months, can live with that I guess
