  1. Before installing the Aasco flywheel, I was a bit worried that the driving was converted in to a bit to radical and race car like, but not at all, car is still smooth and easy to drive, clutch feels like OEM and engine don’t stall at in traffic jam, so with Aasco unit non of this problems, now, if engine character change installing a even lighter unit I don’t know, that was you has to report us, I think is very interesting!

In February I ordered a Quaife limited diff for the 987, I was told the had non in stock and that production was estimated at June, so this will be next modification at my 987.

I will do a small regarding this as well

This days I have overhauled the cylinder heads at one of my bikes, preparing it for a nice journey long trip thorough Europe.

    Still waiting for the report......🥱

Sorry I forgot writing, I just have driving and enjoying the car after making this last modification!

Changing to light flywheel and sport clutch has made the car mucho funnier and exacting to drive, engine spins up much faster but what’s even more important is how it go down in rews for heel and toe down shifting, just stunning.

Have done 10.000km in less than a year since car is finished and I still have a big smile at face each time I use it!

Gratuitous calendar advert there, nicely done sir 👍

I think more here would fix wheels with tyres to a storage system, different hooks needed.

My idea is to make the garage less storage place and good looking, and off course the calendar will be in center of the wall!

The AR1 as you said, is a semi slick tyre designed for Track Days. I have never had this make but ran the Toyo R888’s on TVR‘s on the road for years. You must remember that grip when cold is compromised, really good when warm – hot and dreadful in the wet! Any standing water and you will be aqua planning like a wakeboard!

    Apart from that, have fun!

I live at Gran Canaria (at west African coast) no cold or much rain over here..

18’s with very low profile tyres might look a bit rubbish unless you have lowered suspension? Boxsters look best when the gap between tyre and arch is minimised

My car sits very low (maybe to low..)

  7. My have 19” at the moment, but as I have a set 18” as well, I’m considering putting this set on with a very low profile tires, the idea is getting a bit lower gearing for local mountain roads.

    What do you think?

  8. I went up at local mountain roads today (from sea level up to 1500 high meters) with four friends and their 987s, at the way up we went changing and testing each other cars, after that we had a stop at local grill for T-bones and to discuss regarding my new flywheel and sport clutch swap, the general opinion was all of them want to do the same at their cars during next clutch change 😂..

I've considered this if my clutch ever goes but so many people say it makes the car hard to drive smoothly. Which I always thought meant they were leadfooted. Glad to hear a good review. 👍

The car loose just little bit smoothness, nothing to worry about, other hand the car is much more exacting to drive!

    Talking economy:

Pending on how you are as driver, the OEM dualmass flywheel doesn't last long and is expensive to change, the lightweight aluminium units will last more or less forever, once the friction surface begin to be wasted you just change this surface, as it’s a steel disc bolted to the aluminium flywheel, in other word you save on mantinence.
If you are the little bit more of the “sporty kind of driver” I can’t see why not swap for solid lightweight flywheel  when you’re up for changing your old OEM unit due to mantinence!
