alank
Would like to get some axle stands to do work on my S. Have seen some SEALLY ones on Eurocarparts site which look good ( 2 ton) , but does anyone have any other suggestions as to what ones to get. Do the axle stands need to locate in the jacking points on the car or does the curve of the stand just sit on the jacking point. Have seen some adaptor things on e bay but don't really want to waste money on them if their is no need. Thanks for any advice
Simon
I bought some Halfords 3 tonne jobbies (yellow ) seem good so far although could do with starting at a lower height - they're big mothers!

Fatbloke
I got these. They have an extra triangular pin for additional safety. http://www.sgs-engineering.com/jsr2-axle-stands?gclid=CKebs9-p_c4CFUe3GwodQisOEg
T24RES
I bought hockey pucks to put under the jacking points. Also used old fashioned ramps placed under the wheels after jacking up for jobs that don't need the wheels off.
BartyB
Like T24RES I use a pair of ramps under the wheels after jacking up, as long as I don't need the wheels off. I made two hardwood blocks that fit the jacking point. These sit on the pad of a trolley jack. I use a pair of 3 tonne stands if I need to take the wheels off. As I value my life, I usually put some stout timbers (cut down railway sleepers) or a wheel under the car when I've got the car off the ground and working underneath.
