runner
Evening all ! Curiosity question really, looking a various cars and a few, small few, non OPC say that it has PTV on the car ... My question is how would you know that it really does ? Any lights or buttons etc that say it's a defo option installed on that car ? Ta in advance,
CPS
Easiest option is give you local OPC a call and ask them to check the spec against the reg number . I have PTV in mine and there are no visible signs as you ask.
Jon61
Or you can buy it and see if it goes through brake pads quicker than you expect (as PTV works by applying the brake on the inside wheel when cornering)? :-)
runner
Does everyone think it's worth it ? It appears to increase brake wear so increasing servicing costs ... so overall worth that cost ?
CPS
Having looked around the internet, under normal useage brake wear on the rears can be up to 10-15% more on a PTV car then normal. Not a lot of expense for the improvement in handling.
Stuart21UK
and not a lot in improved handling for the extra brake wear and expense either..?
spyderman8
Don't track it - unless you have deep pockets!
jayk
Not required imo, they have loads of mechanical grip. If it was a full on mechanical LSD then i would say yes, but to worry about having PTV on a road car, nah, if your going to track then there is cost vs handling assistance improvement.......
