TROOPER88
Hi I started another thread regarding a 986 I have just purchased. The interior all looks good and does not look too dated, apart from the steering wheel. It looks quite big. Does a wheel from a more modern Porsche fit simply? Anyone done it? Cheers
edc
What wheel have you got? If the early 993 style 4 spoke then you can swap for the 3 spoke. Not sure if the diameter is actually smaller but the airbag cover looks smaller.
PaulQ
3 & 4 spoke are the same size. If you want to keep the airbag, then your options are a bit limited.
the baron
I swapped from 4 spoke to a 3 spoke from a 987 Boxster, looks much more modern but diameter is the same. You will need to go for a non air bag version to reduce the diameter, Momo look really good, feel great and you can go pretty damn small.
PaulQ
Carsdream in Poland can resize your existing steering wheel. No idea on prices, but their work looks excellent from the pictures I have seen.

I had fancied fitting a 987 steering wheel, but people had told me it couldn't be done.

Must be a 986 wheel then, the guy I bought it from said it was from a 987....... Not sure I would be able to tell the difference, they look identical. edc
986 3 spoke looks totally different to a 987. 987 more plasticy and has silver bits. 986 a much simpler elegant design in a single colour.
