Patrick Bateman
I've read reports of the rear tyres wearing more on the inside but how much more is normal? I'm down to around 2mm on the inside and the outside is somewhere around 4/5mm on both rears. Tyres are ContiSport 3's and I've had about 10k miles out of them. Boxstercol
Sounds a bit much to me, I've never (touch wood) experienced noticeable inner tyre wear. Have you had geometry looked at?
edc
Check the rear toe setting. Either that or you need to go round the corners faster and use the negative camber
Patrick Bateman
I had it aligned on a hunter machine when I first got the tyres fitted. I had another alignment done a few months ago when a track rod end was replaced but this wasn't on a hunter machine.
edc
Worry less about the machinery and what the actual settings are. Toe should be quite parallel perhaps +/- 5 mins.
Patrick Bateman
Well they'd have been within the Porsche tolerance on the hunter machine for definite, no way of knowing with the latter alignment though I'd like to think the rear was untouched given it was only the front that had a component changed.
