Stinky Dave
The drive shaft fell off at the dif. Doesn’t seem to be any damage Can I just bolt it back on ???? its going into the closest indi shop in the next couple of weeks, would rather not have to pay for a tow. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Nobbie
Does the diff still work? Can you turn the flange with the car jacked up. Has the driftshaft been off recently, clutch change? Just seems odd that the driveshaft should just fall off unless the bolts weren't tightened properly or something has locked up. I had it happen on a montego once, but that was because I'd taken the driveshaft off myself and not properly torqued it when I put it back on. If it was just loose bolts, I'd imagine it would be fine to just bolt it back on. If something has siezed, you'll find out soon enough...

Boxob
^^^ In which case I'd be checking all of the accessible nuts and bolts the mechanic could have touched!
