Suky986
Hi, Been a silent observer to this forum since February when I bought my 2002 986 Boxster 986 S Tiptronic. Was out to day & on the instrument panel the check engine light illuminated, afer about 15 minutes of driving. Car was not under any pressure. Engine sounds fine no weird sounds or misfiring at all. Please advise of any possible causes for this. Also, car is due for its service & mot in January, please advise of any independent garages near Lakeside, Essex who can deal. Thanks for your help. edc
It’s all just educated guesswork as the CEL can be for many things. Most likely culprit with engine still running ok is a lambda sensor. Looks at the dealers thread and section for an Indy.

Jason986S
Plug it into a diagnostics and it shall tell you. If he car is behaving normally, a sensor of some kind probably peaked/dropped out of spec for a millisecond.
