Wheel bearing

Afternoon chap's

Quick question I took my s for a service and a check over, apart from small bits and pieces which are not to difficult or can wait (slight rms weep) so I am quite happy, apart from the front wheel bearing quote which was £480!

Does anyone know any independents near Hampshire or is this the normal sort of price?

The bearing itself only costs £40, I bought one a couple of weeks ago.  Is there any reason you need to have it fitted by a Porsche specialist? £440 for what looks like a couple of hours labour looks a bit steep. Personally, I was planning to remove the hub myself and just pay my local garage to press out the old bearing.

Thanks guy's, I am fairly happy to try most things and this doesn't overly bother me but I have read that these are a nightmare to do and I haven't got the special hub puller or a torque wrench that does the hub nut up.

Depending on where in Hampshire you are, Addspeed in Horsham might be worth checking. Closer than Revolution, tho I wouldn't be surprised if they're more expensive (I didn't use them when the bearing went on my 986 as I was abroad at the time).
