Lennym1984
I need to replace the floor mat fasteners on my car due to the fact that the velcro hooks have lost their barb. Unfortunately I cannot see how to remove them. They appear to be attached to the seat runners via a plastic tab. Am I being incredibly stupid and if so, what's the technique to get them out? Bluepork03
Don't they just screw into the carpet?
Lennym1984
That's what I thought but they appear to be attached to tabs that are in turn attached to the seat runners
Shazbot
The plastic end caps on the runners unclip and this clears access to the velcro hook portion on the carpet which looks like it is 'screwed' into the carpet iirc.
Lennym1984
I've actually solved it. The velcro fixing has a metal tab (all one piece) which is attached (with a security star bolt) to the seat runner. I assume this was to prevent making a hole in the carpet. I've removed it... Now I just need to find a replacement...
