Alan Alldritt
Hi, Does any body on the forum know of the correct dimension of the large oil filter removal tool suitable for a 981(3.8 ltr engine).I have seen it quoted as 74,74.4 and 76mm all with 14 flats - how critical is it? - that's only a difference of .078" on diameter. Any help appreciated.
T24RES
I use the same one that i bought for my 986. It shouldnt be tight, (low torque setting) as it is only plastic. A crude measurement = 75mm, however looking at the flutes they get smaller (tigheter) the further on the filter houising you put it.
Greenman
Mine is made by Hazet (model 2169) It is 74.4 mm 14 point, with a 27mm/3/8” top, it looks just like the pictures above.
