Muddy
Hi, just had MOT passed all good. The tester pointed out the corrosion on the coolant pipe clips is it worth replacing. Had a service and health check at local Porsche specialist and was not a mention. Is it just surface corrosion. cheers muddy
Pezky
Common problem. Hose has a steel collar going into a ali pipe. It may start to leak at some point, you will need to replace crossover pipe and hoses
Pothole
As above you will need to entirely replace the pipes that go across centre of car. Bit expensive, but not the end of the world. Somewhat poor show from the 'specialist' not to spot this. Should be on any specialists check list when looking at a 987. Very common issue now. Chuckie66
Thinking I should mine, can you inspect without putting it on ramps at the front? BTW its just had a main service, and given a fine bill of health, but just want to plan for any more work.

Muddy
Thanks for reply, my mistake just had a look at health check report and states all cross over pipes corroded as a red. Just wasn’t shown that one the mot tester showed. Guess it’s another’s one of how long to wait, will it leak tomorrow or next year. Is it upwards of £500 from specialist cheers muddy
Chuckie66
Inspected just now, pipes are rusty at the ends, although clips look good. Reputable Indie didn't mention it as an issue last month, not been losing any water. Plan on these to be replaced soon? or leave until notcable water loss? Pics here: https://imgur.com/o9c3xnz https://imgur.com/f9slmfI https://imgur.com/47z4Dgj https://imgur.com/mEpTqUw What would be the approx cost for an Indie to replace all the rad pipes? Maybe I should bite the bullet and get water pump done at the same time, 58K miles & 12 years old. Geez might have to be complete DIY job... Interested in the price of this too, as it seems to be a common problem now. Like you, am also considering a water pump change at same time as a precautionary measure.
