grommett
Not sure if I've got a problem so will test again today. It seems like the parking brake is not disengaging when I drive off and I wonder if this is a common problem? It is a 2012 Boxster S with 17k miles. Carmine
It will only auto-release if you have your seat belt buckled.
topradio
I think you have to release it manually the first time in a journey and after that it will auto disengage when pulling away. Not sure as I rarely use it.

I’ve never had to manually release it before (had it nearly 2years), I have tried stopping the car and putting the parking brake on and then off, but it still seemed to be slowing the car down. Greenman
You can usually hear it actually release.

OK more info! Are you saying that it feels like the brakes are dragging? There is a well known fault where the footbrake sticks on slightly. It caused by the bushing on the pedal and there is an uprated part that fixes it.
grommett
Yes it does! Is this a free of charge fix from Porsche or should I go to my Indy?
