topradio Posted December 13, 2019 Report Share Posted December 13, 2019 That's the operating arm for the microswitch that senses when the roof is closed (part of the alarm circuit IIRC). You have an early car with the plastic screen, when I replaced mine with the later glass window roof I removed the switch and linked the wires as the later car doesn't have it. If you put your finger on it you can just rattle it about, if that makes sense. Mine seems pretty solid, with no side to side movement when you try and wiggle the arm just a click from the microswitch when you push it down. I'm guessing there is alot of play on yours.? Saying that are you sure it's actually this that's causing the noise and not the wind deflector or maybe the clamshell.?  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
