sa utah
Looked at a friends car earlier after said friend complained that they had difficulty changing into second gear. Without even starting the car as soon as I moved the gear stick through the gears (not even depressing the clutch ) I could tell something wasn’t right as the sound from the back end was like a bag full of spanners. my guess is the linkage / cables but couldn’t get under to have a look as I had decent clothes on. any advice ? ½cwt
The plastic caps on the spherical ends of the linkage are known to wear and break, could be the cause.
Ninesomething
Slather everything at the gearbox end in grease. Makes a huge difference. I got lucky with this car the shift is really slick but it still got better after a good greasing.
