The short number plate mount you have @daz05, is it this?

i have a 5 digit plate and am keen on doing this, and seems like it fits in line with std spacing at 30.5cm wide

Yes that's the one. If you e-mail 9 apart direct and they usually discount over eBay prices.

A couple of tips if you suffer from OCD, I also had a plate made that was a tiny bit thinner across the face, fully legal but about 1cm less and it fits great.

I also filed the behind the plinth on the ridge so I could position it a little lower down the bumper. I prefer covering more of the gap rather than spoiling the line above.
