Car Play Dongle

Has anyone who use wired CarPlay on their 718 used or heard of a plug in dongle into Armrest USB which allows you to use CarPlay wirelessly? I know that very very new models don’t but not some of the older initial models

Picked up our 992 today which is a 19 plate and still is wired

I got this Carlinkit 3.0 wireless CarPlay

From Amazon Last week for £85… prices seem to be up to £135, so shop around on Amazon

Works well,, plugs into the CarPlay enabled USB Socket (for me, in the glovebox) and pairs automatically when you get in the car. No complaints

As it's a PIA to keep swapping, lightning and USB-C leads.

How about:

These type of leads only do power, they do not carry date ;)

Oh. Sorry / thanks.

Every day's a school day!

Personally I still prefer a nice CD.

I bought a splitter so that I could connect both a USBC for Android and lightning for Apple...

Unfortunately the y cable wouldn't work with an Apple phone, as stated above it wouldn't communicate properly and only charged even though the lightning lead attached to it was OEM
