Spinjim
Looking to replace both anti roll link bars on my 981 as the rattle is getting on my nerves 😐 Local Indy can’t get me in till the end of May, I’ve seen a couple of videos on line and it looks easy enough. Has anyone on here done it any pitfalls etc Thanks James
daz05
Haven't done it but when I changed the rear anti roll bar it seemed straightforward. Should be a similar process up front. Good idea to know your torque values before you start.
zagamuffin
Spray the shyate out of the bolts the day before with good penetrating oil (not wd40) 😎
½cwt
Lets just say I hope they come out of the alloy casting a lot easier on a 10 year old car than they do on 986s and 987s, the dissimilar corrosion between the bolt and the alloy can chemically 'weld' them in place as the corroded chemical expands requiring heat, a lot of impact driver work and above all patience! Torque is 85Nm on M12 x 1.5 drop link bolt on 986/996 and 987/997 if that helps, given the tread pitch and diameter are the same on the 981 drop link.
