ScotFox
The drivers side temperature flap in my base-spec 981(single zone AC) looks to have failed. It appears that the single zone system uses a single stepper motor and connected driver passenger flaps for temp control. As far as I can tell, the main HVAC assembly that contains the various flaps etc. will need to be replaced - it’s unlikely (guess) that the drivers side flap can be fixed - I’ll probably need to replace the assembly. It’s a big (winter) job. Might as well use the opportunity? Would an upgrade to full climate just consist of replacing the HVAC head unit, HVAC distribution assembly (the box with all the flaps, stepper motor harness and motors) - and coding? iborguk
Major surgery I think , see https://rennlist.com/forums/981-forum/1331008-climate-control-upgrade-possible.html
daz05
And additional wiring, plus if you had sports chrono then you would need the code from the vin to transfer it to your new climate unit. The other options will code ok. Not easy to do it properly.
