deanmr2
Hi guys does anyone know if the 981 Boxster came with the above tool to help with mounting and dismounting of the alloy wheels. I have 20” Carrera Classics on my car and would like to protect them and the brake callipers when removing and mounting them.
r1flyguy
Very much doubt it! But I could be wrong. How much are they these days as I have 2 which I purchased when I had a 997. 2 makes it easier than 1 😁
BrianJ
No it didn't. You can buy them at Porsche Centres, typically cheaper than another well known specialist supplier. The genuine Porsche ones are a light alloy. Some of the ebay items are rather crude and made from steel. I agree that 2 makes the job much easier. andygo
I think they only come as standard with PCCB's as a knock on the discs can damage them.
Carmine
My 981 BGTS has PCCBs and didn’t come with them; I purchased 2 as well as a second 987 jack from eBay and carry them in the car. Came in v handy when I got a small stone caught between the brake disc and the backing plate a few years ago.
deanmr2
Thanks for the replies guys, I think that they are really handy tools so wonder why Porsche has stopped supplying them with the newer cars probably a cost issue. I will go to my local OPC and pick up a couple.
Carmine
No wheel changing tools at all except for the wheel bolt key - save weight and, more importantly, save money.
