    For a salesman's motorway hack it's fine.

For a sports car which should be represent a bit of fun - should have some colour at least.   Doesn't have to be full on like the tw*ts in yellow cars but Murky Silver? Primer Grey? Invisible Durge?   Those colour codes shouldn't even be allowed on the options list.

I'm going to go against the consensus here and say I would prefer Crayon to Gentian, any green at all, yellow.....even possibly Guards Red

Oddly I just saw the test mule EV Macan. We get a lot of test Porsches hereabouts because VW has a big test centre about 20 kilometers away. Other people have said they've seen it with 2 sports cars which are presumably the EV boxster and Cayman but I only saw the Macan. Filthy, covered in taped on sensors etc. Didn't have time to snap a pic.

I'm no lawyer but I would guess it is. Basically it's a customer buying an insurance policy with the stated terms. Same sort of thing as buying car insurance, drive drunk and crash and you're not covered. All in the terms you agree to when purchasing the policy.

what about right to repair though? is that not a thing in the UK?

i.e. ability to get serviced/work done by anyone AS LONG as OEM parts and procedures followed...

You can for the manufacturers warranty (2 years from new on Porsche I think) but not for the extended warranty, which isn't a warranty but an insurance product so can have what ever terms they wish.

Section 2 point C of the extended warranty terms says:

A claim will be invalid if "Service, repair or maintenance has previously been performed on the vehicle by you or a third party who is not an authorised Porsche Centre/Porsche Service Centre"

So you may fit the correct genuine parts but unless it was done by Porsche themselves you risk any claim being refused. You could argue, how will they know another OPC didn't do the work if its something like disks and pads, but not as easy on a service. I imagine if you have a claim on a gearbox they wouldn't check your brakes were fitted by an OPC, but if you had a hub/suspension fault, they might look closer.  All depends on how by the book your OPC is and your appetite to risk.

    is that even legal?

Hold down Alt and key 0189 on the number pad on a Windows keyboard; press and hold the 1 key on an Android keyboard, Apple, who knows....?  @rowbos sussed it I think, then disappeared.

Oh, copy and paste works too....

Or we could just get @Araf to change your name to 'diamondgeezer'....save us the hassle 👍

I was in Halfords yesterday and picked up a Michelin rechargeable one, it small and compact. Digital gauge either psi or pounds and automatic cut off. It took 30 seconds to add 2psi in my tyres.

    Im very impressed 😎

    Can you post a link?

You have to consider that the better fuel (Porsche designed the car for a minimum of 98ron) stops the ignition retarding as we know so you get the bhp that the car should return.
The other benefit is that it creates a better explosion therefore needing less fuel to get to the speed that you need, which means it returns more mpg as well...which goes towards the extra cost.

Would you buy a race horse and feed it on cheap hay? ;)

    you can get expensive hay?

FWIW I had mine on a rolling road years ago (BoXa meet) and IIRC on 95ron it still provided the expected 315bhp

Had both my exhaust gaskets (manifold to cat section) replaced as one was 'chuffing' and leaking slightly.

I use Unit 18 in Milton Keynes for jobs like this. They are reliable, reasonably priced and the owner has a GT4 so knows his stuff. Cost me £90 inc VAT for the labour. I purchased the gaskets direct from Silverstone OPC which IIRC were about £12.

I also provided new bolts and proper copper coloured locking exhaust nuts.

Another job ticked off the list!

    These guys?
