Donor battery to the fuse box is way easier if you can do that

Nice work.
Same as you I bought my car totally on a whim, 12 years and counting.

If you can post the failure sheet it might give more clues. Common failure points are the o2 sensors. Any access to live diagnostics?

Also I've never driven one but I suspect that a 2.5 on skinny tyres would be great fun to drive.
That's the gt86 philosophy isn't it?

Great shot though!

I think if you have the options list for your car it will tell you the speaker set up for your car. The list is on a sticker under your bonnet or front cover of the service book. Options list
Pull the door panels off if you wish but don't damage the door membranes or you will get wet carpets which intern damages the control/alarm units under the seats. I don't think any 986's have airbags in the doors??
There are airbags in the doors

It is a 5min job to remove the door cards to check if you have speakers or wiring
It is if you've done it before. I'd give yourself half an hour if it's the first time

Have always liked these Gen1 versions - yes seriously.
This sort of metallic colour didn’t do the unorthodox shape any favours as it worked better in darker colours.
Very smart packaging, clever construction and actually quite a nice thing to drive in its day. Proper 6 seater with a decent boot.

The alarm will go off, if you can put the key in and turn to position 1 that will stop it

The guy is pretty clearly a charlatan, I guess it would only make sense for us to publicise a warning about him in the hope it helps others in the future avoid him.

That seems pretty fair to me.

I will message you the price as I'm not sure if I should be putting prices on here.
If it's OK I will but will wait for admin to OK it.
I'm not a mod but I can't see any issue with sharing the costs involved.

Never thought they were handed , mine looked exactly the same from both sides
Strongly suspect the only handed-ness is the side the part number is printed on. Hence revolution saying not to worry.

So the original bearing from porsche was misfitted?

They all do that, Sir.

Didn't someone have a problem behind the dashboard, not sure if heater matrix, front drain holes or similar, but I think eventually it led to damp in the footwell from the front, rather than the back as is most common.
Logically if the windows are misting up, there is moisture somewhere. If it's heater matrix leaking then you'd expect to smell the coolant. I think I vaguely recall the issue you refer to, wasn't it seals around the pipes that feed the heater matrix that were letting moisture past them?
-
The second issue could be the heater matrix. Any smell?

It’s carrying a few extra sweet wrappers and needs a good vacuum, but that’s a bit harsh.
I was thinking the first set of symptoms could be a slipping auto transmission.

Is it a tip?
Claim or not?
in Insurance / Finance questions
Posted
They ask if any of the insured driver have made a claim in the last 5 years so if you insure 2 cars with both drivers, you need to declare the claim for both policies at renewal.
My experience of similar (and with my wife's driving it's been a regular occurence) is that the actual cost doesn't go up by all that much. You can do a quick calc yourself by going to go compare or whereever and putting in a renewal quote for one of the policies with and without the claim added. If I recall correctly last time I had to do this it was about a 30 quid difference on a 300 quid ish policy.
