Ebay two used front tyres? Really?
why so surprised?

In my experience hankook ventus is quite soft and low wearing. Not run them on a Boxster but I would imagine they would not make it to 18 years old.
I'd change the lot, best option.

TYRES OK ?

What about points for having a mini?

I mentioned the size issue for Michelin earlier
I think dropping to 255 on the rear will be fine. I assume you're not planning on taking the car across the Arctic tundra.

At least they didn't get to the end and realise they hadn't left room for the E.
He left space for the 'airbag' to be visible at the end. Darwin's too good for him. Or his passenger.

Battery replacement cost if they've not been done. I looked at touareg hybrid a few years ago - very similar under pinnings - but the lack of availability for replacement batteries and the cost was an issue.

VW group charge a fricking fortune for map data across all of their product lines. 300 quid for a software map update doesn't sound too far out of line with what I'd expect them to charge. The problem is the dealer gets charged by head office so they can't discount it, anything they give to you in discount comes out of their bottom line.

all sales folk seem to be short-termist in nature, car sales, estate agents, recruitment agents ....they are all just as bad as one another and none of them seem to realise that customers have long memories.

I've always been a little puzzled about why hand brake shoes actually need replacing?
As friction lining wear can only happen when the shoes are pressed up against a moving surface, how do they wear out when they're just pressing against a stationary surface on a stationary car.
Unless you do a lot of hand brake turns, that is .....
I thought it was most commonly due to corrosion rather than wear

No my friend… I’ve been to the garage on more occasions than needs be and the original lines etc are still there.
I will insist on all the parts removed being made available so I can take them away and have them tested. That is great if you can do that for sure.

Insist on having all the old parts returned with the car, then have them tested by a competent engineer to prove they didnt need replacing.
Write down a diary of everything that has happened.
Then go full legal on them.
Boxsters arent spaceships.Working on them is basically the same as working on any other car, with just some of the parts in different places.
I had never even sat in one before 6months ago. Im not a qualified mechanic, just an enthusiastic amateur, but Im pretty confident I can do most things that might need doing to mine, on my drive, not a fully equipped workshop.
Surely given its been over a month they will simply say they have all been disposed of.

^ agree with the above, unless you've got the cardiff blues on speed dial and willing to accompany you to collect the car 'persuasively'

There’s no way they will admit to putting that much fluid in…these guys were supposed to be Porsche specialists and if I attempted to get it towed somewhere else I’d have to pay by them for effectively ruining my car and then pay someone else who I also don’t know to rectify it….I’m not sure what an OPC is?

I know they can't actually work but I think every boxster should have had louvres on the rear deck. They just should. Think I'll get mine done. In the U.S. because of hotrod history every town has at least 20 shops where you can walk in, point at your car, say ' louvre that' and 20 mins later you're driving off in a cool louvred car. In some states it's a byelaw.
perhaps you should move to hicksville then, sounds like you'd fit right in

looks like the bastard son of a 987 and an MR2, no wonder porsche never put it to production, pass

My drivers seat (986) digs into my loweR back to the point where it starts getting painful after two or three miles. If it had lumber adjustment I might be able to get more comfortable, but although it has memory function it doesnt have lumbar adjustment.
At some point soon Im going to have to find some kind of fix or consIder selling the car, as its ruining the enjoyment of driving it.
Im 5,10 and 14 stone so not far off average build I think.
Not in the porsche but I had a similar experience with a daily that had lumbar support. I actually found pushing all the way back so there was no support at all was the most comfortable.

The mot history is certainly chequered. I note it failed on excessively corroded brake pipe, then passed a week later then failed again a year after that for the same thing. Bit fishy. Sounds like a project.... Good luck.

design 911 do some self-maps. If it's a 2.7 986 i can't really see how much gain can be sought from the engine with a remap to be honest but I'm not an expert.
Maybe see if Mark Sheed can advise you, he's on here occasionally and is an expert!
Have you done much work to free up the airflow? That's the usual place to start to get bp gains, throttle body, airbox along with a free flowing exhaust.

people sell things for 99p on ebay all the time, suppose it's not up to you to value other people's time?
