Got a new hood fitted with a glass window at BAS in Cwmbran. Ordered more parts for the rear axle overhaul (bearings, brake discs, and pads).

Hi ed80 I'm in the market myself for a new hood with glass window, my original plastic window went bang when I tried to fold it tonight.  Mine was the original, opaque and slightly cold at the time, shame really as the hood itself is in good knick even if the metropole blue had faded a bit and has slight creasing. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the BAS new hood?

Cheers. Local chap who was reviewed really well and same price as CHW for a mohair with glass and headlining of £1050.

If you're looking directly out the back when reversing it is a little smaller but still fine. When using the rear view mirror you notice it's not as high but the width is fine. It is much clearer than the plastic screen that was on there though. And I don't have to do the Boxster chop anymore.

Thanks. You're car looks in lovely condition so worth the investment. And the chop is a real PIA!

Saw a bloke in a 986 on the dual carriageway but something didn't look right. As I got nearer I saw his roof was up but the clamshell was also up at the highest point! I felt like shouting 'I can fix that for ya mate' as I overtook him. ?

Edited to add I did feel sorry for him?

Was he doing 70mph and 3mpg! Perhaps he thought it was his pop up spoiler ??

Finally got around to re blacking the plastic scuttle in front of the windscreen that had sun bleached grey.

No products used her !  Very carefully did the old hot air gun trick for an original and permanent fix, looks  100 %

Hi Mike forgive my ignorance what’s ‘the old hot air gun trick?’ Thanks in advance.

Drove to Sutton and back to collect a Lapis blue hardtop and stand for my car. When i got home both my wife and my two daughers shouted - yuck, that doesnt look nice and even worse said that it made my car look like a MX5 ?

I will be selling the hardtop no sooner than i got it. Let me know if anyone wants a Lapis blue hardtop in as new condition with stand.

Lapis blue over viola I'm not surprised it doesn't look good.  Need the same colour as the car and then the hard top looks sweet.  I've also found it great over the winter months for keeping the damp out and protecting the rag top.

Yep, absolutely sheared off. There was a disturbingly loud bang as the left hand side came off of it's runner! Was an absolute nightmare to remove the clamshell as just couldn't get access on the right hand side and at that point I didn't know what was wrong

Jeez hope it hasn't damaged the paint. Why do you think it failed?

Up early to swap clear head lights over :) but snapped the amber corners so had to silicone them back until I get my smoked ones.

Then fitted some new rear LED lights, new LED number plate lights, fixed the passenger door light, fitted wind deflector decal and gave her wash/wax vac out.

    Few piccys

    Hi Karl,

Could you please advise where you got the wind deflector decal from? Thanks.
