  1. Welcome and enjoy. I've had my car three years now and put 34,000 on it in that time. Bought it with 50k on the clock. Absolutely love it! I'm handy with spannering so not expensive to run at all. My biggest expense was a new clutch and flywheel. Other than that it's been standard stuff. Fitted a Carnewal GT exhaust which sounds lovely and a sprint booster to sharpen up throttle response. No intentions of selling it. Other half doesn't drive it either😉

The Gan tuner has 3 modes - off (standard), eco - which definitely more economical than stock but still kicks a bit harder and dynamic which is very responsive but does like to guzzle the juice. I put it on eco when the fuel price went daft a couple of months ago and it's still there. I might go back though - it kicks noticeably harder around 4k and doesn't quit til the redline. Fuel is back down to almost reasonable so why not?

It's a bit of a faff changing. It doesn't hold both maps in it's memory so you need a decent internet connection. Just using the phone takes ages - on the drive within reach of the router it takes 4 or 5 minutes but the engine has to be running. Then you have to drive it for a while for it to learn the settings. Bit of a design error IMO.

So you reckon it's worth fitting it?

  3. Retired mine from the daily grind. Bought a cheapish car to tackle the daily commute. Had been putting just over 1000 miles a month on the Boxster. Covered 32k miles in about 2 years, 5 months. Time for it to have a well earned rest. Purely for pleasure now 👍👍

    And so it begins...

Jacked the car up and moved it through 90 deg on the dollies - I had envisaged this being a doddle, but it despite the floor being really smooth it was bloody hard work to shift it round!

Then off with taking it to bits

I'm struggling to get the front wings off so may end up cutting the brackets I can't reach the bolts for - the original plan was to sell all of the parts, but the wings don't seem to be getting for much.

Once the front is bare, I'll work my way round to the back and tonneau cover.  Then it's onto the cutting of the door skins... 😲

So far it's been the odd hour here and there in the evening, but hoping to get a better run at it over the weekend.

And yes, it's been mentioned more than once that 'why am I doing it now, when the weather is getting good' :D - I'm just impatient like a kid with a new toy 😁

Looks like your passing the point of no return now! Why do the door skins need cut?

Took the car for a short drive and quick wash. It's still so cold I've not been able to do a single top down drive this year!-)

What!!! I live in Scotland and had the roof down loads of times this year. As long as it's above 8°c and dry that's good enough for me.
