….stuck some sound deadening stuff under the boot lid to cut the resonance of the DesignTek exhaust (which booms terribly).  Has had a positive effect, much less  intrusive.  Boot acts like a huge Bass Cab,  not now….

I also lifted the carpets and did the boot floor.  Made a nice difference and I had some left over so I did under the bonnet which surprisingly also helped. I guess it's another resonant space - probably amplifying front tyre noise.  Doors next. Strangely the exhaust sounds better. Getting rid of other noises I suppose.

  2. Yeah I will. In Spain right now though. Have to say the place DH sent me to looked a proper dump inside and out but they were doing full restos on an E type and a 911 turbo. Don't care to contribute towards expensive premises....

But Dove House do also deal with Maserati, Ferrari and classic 911 customers to whom that is a reasonable figure.

Not useful to OP, but @Ninesomething go see Tim and Paint FX just of Stamford Road behind Kwik Fit if you still need it done locally.  Bonnet, bumper and wing respray on The Much Better ½'s Golf with some minor repairs, £880 incl VAT earlier this year, turned round in a week.  He's done both my 986 bumpers for under £300 incl VAT each in the last 4 years but I did take them to him stripped off the car and of all accessories ready for them to prep.

The guy at DH knows what my car is and he told me they'd done loads of Boxster front bumpers for them. Can't believe they can spend that sort of money on a car they're going to retail.

Anyway thanks for the tip - I take it you were happy with the job?

Not sure small claims will be able to sort this situation out.If Porsche do it for free how many more will they have to do out of warranty? That's what they'll be thinking unfortunately.

My thinking is that it goes to court someone in the media will see it which will be much worse for them than quietly settling one case.

I assume that if I replaced the standard PASM springs (10mm lower than standard) with H&R 10mm lowering springs the car would stay at the same height? Or is the  PASM lowered height achieved via shorted dampers, or something else, hence fitting the H&R 10mm lowering springs would reduce my PASM car by a further 10mm?

Yeah you'll be the same with the H&R -10s.

You mean the bit I sprayed?  It's still attached! The rest of the doorcard is just masked off in the photo.  But yes, it looks like it has plastic welded tabs that fix it in place so left it well alone.

    Ah - gotcha. Makes sense....👍

Haven’t tried putting them back on yet, think they came off ok, just need resetting but bought some spare anyway just in case: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296182393845?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aiUWzZxKTF2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WAJs85DbQs2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I meant reattaching the hinge panel to the door card. I watched a yt vid and the guy had to break the clips to get the 2 bits apart. Can't remember how he put them back together.

Took off the door panel to replace the faulty window switch, then stripped off the scratched up rubberised coating on the top trim and sprayed it up.  It's early days to see how well it will last but if it goes well then i'll tackle the centre column next.

I need to do this. How do you reattach it to the door panel? I was under the impression that you have to destroy the little clips to separate it in the first place. Other thing I'm not motivated by a broken switch luckily.
