The rear arms apparently get a bit of play around 40k too.
I replaced rear toe arms and front and rear link arms recently mainly because of the knocking noise that turned out to be drop links.

What mileage did they fail at?
Only one failed but at that price replaced both, it had done 47K

Bought 2 new Meyle drop links for the bargain price of £36 a pair off Ebay. Spent all of 10 minutes trying to fit one and then gave up at took it to a garage.
Fixed in an hour and peace restored, you can't believe how clunky they are when they fail.

Had the aluminium cross over pipes and hoses replaced today as they had been leaking. I only bought the car recently and missed this important detail (heart/head) so just needed to get it done so I can continue to enjoy the driving. Took the car up into central London to collect supplies from my office - must say on the way back tried the PASM sport button and really enjoyed it - great fun - so very happy tonight.
All sorted then 👍

Replaced the ancillary belt, a job I've been putting off for a while but was pretty straight forward apart from the stupid plug on the Bose back shelf speaker 😡.

Probably similar to Pears soap idea but I've often cleaned the leather settee and car seats with this stuff, thought it was a joke when I was told about it but it seems to work well.

@red rocket You will need to remove the undertray at least as the anti roll bar bushes are held in with bolts that will spin unless the tray is removed. Front wheel arch linings come out in 2 minutes if you need .too,.The usual difficulty is undoing the drop links.

There are a couple of thousand posts in the 'What have you done to your 986 today' so I thought I'd start one for 987's 😀.
My car had started making the tell tale noises over rough roads of worn rear suspension arms, just to be on the safe side I ended up ordering front and rear arms. I Had the car lowered by 30mm last year with a set of Eibach springs, these had made the rear camber off due to the suspension not having enough adjustment to dial it out during alignment. This has caused a bit of uneven tyre wear on the rear on the inside edges, so I also purchased some rear adjustable toe links.
I've managed to fit everything today and its already for its 4 wheel alignment tomorrow.

Seems the best plan is to replace the broken hub and suspension parts so the wheel can be mounted back on the car. Then I can see if it will drive. Then quotes for body work.
Sounds like a good plan. Give Ben Butterworth at 9Apart a call and see if they have a hub assembly and strut.

What broke on the rear, the subframe or the suspension links? Has it sheared the bolt off on the damper or did the the top mount rip out ?

You select what is displayed on the dash by using the OBD stalk.
-
You must have connected both head unit wires up to a permanent live, you need to run one wire to a switched live in the fuse box.

There not on all the time, just when you put the light switch in the 'Home' position

I would say there not as bright as most factory DRL's so shouldn't be dazzling to other road users.

These are the ones I used:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-2-PCS-SUPER-BRIGHT-WHITE-4-5W-H7-H8-CANBUS-LED-CAR-FOG-LIGHT-BULBS-WITH-LENS-/201310586365?
No errors, battery drain or filling.

Is the diode the right way round? The sliver band marked end goes to the yellow/red wire.
-
I've done this mod on my 987, but I wouldn't wire the fogs up so they stay on with the headlight. You'll end up dazzling other road user's.

I'm up near Blackpool but thanks. Ordered the Anti-glare screen protectors for now.

How do you find the screen on the Parrot unit on sunny days? I can hardly see the display on my Pioneer unit.
Thinking of ordering some Anti-glare screen protectors for now but not really happy with the unit I've fitted so now concidering the Parrot as a replacement.

Great write up . I thought about doing a write up about my install with the Bose system but I my pictures are not as clear as yours.
For anybody contemplating doing this but has Bose you need to either replace the amp or use NavTv's optical interface available here:-http://www.nav.tv/products/head-unit-replacement-por-hur
It's a very simple unit requiring only about 6 connections... pity it costs the earth.

I can get the site, but can't get the links to the PDF files.
There's a link here to the Porsche parts catalogue if your desperate.
