I don't know too much about SCS, but I know that many in the South West feel it is worthwhile to travel to Cotswold Porsche.

For a new clutch you shouldn't probably expect too much change out of £1000 once labour, VAT etc. is all added in.

If you have other work in that area to do, i.e. RMS, DM Flywheel, IMSB etc. then it is a good opportunity to share the labour costs, saving in the long run but that will of course mean a bigger hit in the one visit.

SCS have a good reputation with the South West region of PCGB. A bit further afield you've got Marque 21 in Bridport and I can heartily recommend Tim and his team to look after you.

Looks like I might have overestimated the cost, difficult as I did have lots of other work done when my clutch was changed in 2015.

Cotswold list a clutch change for a 986 3.2 at £699 http://www.cotswoldspecialists.co.uk/services/porsche-servicing-pricing/

Revolution is even cheaper but quite a trek from Plymouth. http://www.revolution-porsche.co.uk/servicing/boxster-986#additional-maintenance note that Revolutions prices are plus VAT

Someone once mentioned these guys but I forget if they were good or not.

@Sazzy ?

Wasn't me but I hear good things about them.

Or you could try Williams Crawford in Saltash @Tritonkev not the cheapest but a very close specialist nonetheless.
