Curious to know... OPC? Is that a Porsche Original Part? Having spent a bit of time researching this (and thanks for all of the advice btw), I suspect that the baffle-only option from Pelican Parts is the cheapest solution, for the time that I have invested. Although, I fully expect to be proved wrong now!

spyderman8
Just had this from one of the Boxster racers: i got mine from EMC its a porsche part number unsure what the part number is,run my oil on maximum now, and never had a problem since whith any surging even at rockingham on first sharp left hander, its not a deep sump so doesnt sit any lower, it has higher baffles inside,EMC Kevin 01213282225think it was around £175 + vatAnd not £400 for a hartech one,
Boxsey S
The 'X51 oil sump' I mentioned is a part from the 996 Carrera with X51 Powerkit. The changes compared with the standard oil pan are subtle, but appear to work well. The part number is 996 107 243 41, and I got one from my local OPC for less than £170. I combined that with Millers Nanodrive 10w50 oil, as recommended by Hartech.
