MH82
Hi all, got it in the car this evening and no sound from stereo, not from radio, cd or aux. what should I be checking? thanks
Boxstercol
Maybe this will sound a bit daft but try turning ignition off, locking car, unlocking, starting car & then turn stereo on. Used to have this problem before, albeit on a 986 & the above sorted it for a while. Never got to the bottom of it as the car got written off... Check all the connections to the amp in the frunk behind the panel that contains the air compressor. Other than that it might be worth checking the fuse for the amp or finding someone who can test the amp, there have been a few threads where the amp has packed up on 987's. entdgc
Doesn't the amp in the frunk only power the door base speakers? The rest of the speakers should still work if the amp is blown. This is certainly the case on a 987.1 with ASK amp. Dave
Happy Days
My 986 used to do this. According to the service manager at Belfast it was to do with fibre optics (?) that control the head unit. Apparently ignition off, lock / unlock using the key and restart is the way to unblock it. Worked for me every time.
