Dannythemusicman
Hi all, After placing my key in the ignition slot a message comes up saying 'Replace ignition battery' (or something to that effect...) Anyone done this themselves? Can I simply pull the battery out and replace without any need to re-code anything etc? Edited to add - it's a 981 '63 plate Boxster in case that helps! Greenman
I haven’t had to do it myself but I’m 99 % certain it’s just a case of battery replacement as per this vid:

Dannythemusicman
Fantastic - nice to hear this doesn't require a visit to the dealership as we all know what that would mean..!

Dannythemusicman
I can report that I successfully changed the key fob battery myself. Coincidentally, I already had the correct battery as the kitchen scales uses the same one..!
Patt
Think it's a CR2032 - even my local mini Tesco corner shop sells them. I tend to replace my fob batteries once a year.
