Hi there everybody, I'm brand new to this (please excuse any failings) and it seems to be the only decent forum I have come across in 9 years of Boxster ownership. Same car from the start - even though it's quite a tight fit for my long legs! I have used a friend's recommendation for looking after the car since I've had it but, although alegedly Porsche trained, I have started to have serious doubts and need a new mechanic fairly local to me. Not that I mind getting my hands mucky, but I think some things are best left to folks who know what they are doing because they do it on a frequent basis.

Any suggestions that you can make will be warmly welcomed and I thank you.

Welcome to the forum, John.

We have quite a few members in Scotland but I’m not sure anyone is as far North as you.

i live in Broughty Ferry but I’m contemplating using Revolution in Leeds. I know it’s a long way away but I’m a Leeds lad so will make a bit of a visit out of it, they also looked after my car before I got it so know it well and come highly recommended.

Hey Ludacris - snap! I'm also a Loiner but been here 28 years now. Still got the accent I'm told. I was impressed with Strasse some years back when I turned up un-anounced with what turned out to be a MAF sensor failure while rushing to Dover for a ferry. They couldn't get the part in time but told me exactly what I needed to buy and reassured me that it was ok to drive it. They were right as it took us to Lake Como and back before I could get the thing (Stuttgart wanted to sell me the whole fuel metering unit!) from Dingbro.

I think Scubaregs might be referring to SP Autobahn Specialist Cars. I'm sure we'll hear if I'm wrong, and that's not an unusual situation for me!

Sorry for the delay in responding, just catching up with the Sopranos - no telly in this house!

Thank you all - Fat Haggis and mid-life and especially Scubaregs who jogged my memory - I think it's looking like SP Autobahn might be my new choice of workshop. We'll see if he can fit me in for a major service at some point. Never been to Stirling, it will make a good day - or two - out for my lady and me.

Thanks too to Ludacris for the friendly welcome. First time I've ever joined a forum.

Cheers y'all.
