Boxob
Behind the door card is a waterproof membrane sealing the wet side of the door from the cabin. If the membrane is split or the seal around the edge had come unglued then water gets past and soaks the bottom of the door card and carpet. Remove the door card and repair or replace the door membrane and fix the seal.
S8ked
The Pelican Parts web site has a good explanation with photos of how to remove the interior door panel. www.pelicanparts.com

New membrane liners are about £
Danncus
I have a similar issue I checked the membrane, which was cut up. I re-sealed it with gaffer tape. I made no difference. I suspect water is penetrating the door seal (possibly near the mirror) then running down the rubber to the bottom of the door.

Pacoryan
Just a note on this that might help you and or anyone picking this up in the future, when I removed my door cards the membranes were intact and fully glued all the way around. I decided to peel them off anyway and the original glue goes hard, almost brittle, and seems to allow water through even when it looks like it is still intact. I removed all the old stuff and resealed with bathroom sealant, no soggy doors even after the recent deluges we’ve been having. So - if they’ve never been done, re-do them, even if they look ok! Useful to know, got my door cards off at the moment and driver's side is leaking a bit so will investigate.
Truth
Glad its sorted for you mate! Its a nightmare in water ingress! I had problems for months trying to resolve the same problem and its all sorted now. Its was all to do with after market speakers and gromits that took about ten visits to a specialised Porsche garage and then the actual Porsche Dealership in Wolverhampton. They thought they had sorted it first time there and it leaked again but fair play they have now modified both doors and all is well 🙂
